I'm looking to upgrade the suspension on my 2020 TRD Sport AC. The plan is to add steel skids, sliders, and a bumper with a winch. It also has a topper with a plywood platform in the rear. Currently, I'm debating between Elka and King. Do people think it's worth the extra cost for the compression adjustment? How often do you actually adjust it? I imagine once I find the setting I'm happy with, I'll set it and forget it.

Its more for adjusting compression for off-road or on-road driving. Keep it nice and soft for daily driving, but then stiffen up for higher speed off-roading. Or, if you load up for a weekend trip, adjust compression accordingly. However, if you're not one to want to make adjustments, air down etc... may not be worth it.

I spoke to a few of my friends who have adjusters and they say they rarely adjust them. Some people like to tinker so they mess around with it but I am not one of those people so I opted to go without adjusters and save a little money.

'Worth' is subjective and each person has different circumstances that make the valuation vary vastly. I'm asking myself right now the same question. I'm comparing the cost difference between suspension packages with a family vacation, roof racks (uptop), joolca water heater, a puppy (and all the tied in costs) for the kid...

I could spend the $600 or so that would add adjusters a bunch of different places... I'm not sure for my situation I can prioritize the adjusters. I think I can swing the 2.5 remote reservoirs and still do all the other things I want. The last $600ish dollars feels like it would cut into other things. So there is my blog post. If I come into a windfall I'll come back and edit this post to show off all the things in one picture.

I bet those adjusters are nice though... And if your already in for 3k what's 600 more?

I feel like I'm in a similar situation. Would they be nice to have? Yes absolutely. Do I actually need them? Probably not seeing as the non-adjustable suspension was designed as a good middle ground and there are other parts I could buy with the money that may be more beneficial in the long run. Overall I'm leaning towards non-adjustable I just wanted to make sure I wasn't overlooking something major.

I would say this, if it is a dedicated offroad truck then no adjusters needed. Valve for what you drive offroad.

If it’s a split use then invest in the clicker. I’m actually shocked how much it changed the feel of the truck.

I run mine at 7 clicks in on the street then 5 clicks from full when normal offroad and full stiff when I want to run fast.

And then when I’m driving home I dial it back out. It’s like having 2 or 3 different valve stacks.

I’m also very sensitive to vehicle set up. My wife on the other hand can’t feel the difference in our suburban with 20 inch wheels and rock hard epa tires vs 18’s with soft tires.... sway vs no sway...

I was looking at those on the Kings and I figure I will go with out, just adjust tire pressure
for off road, if I go that way.

I'll second this. I love them, and the difference is very noticeable for me. Have my preferred setting for on road, and a few settings I use when offroad depending on terrain and speed.

I'm ashamed to admit that after my discussion of 'worth' and list of other priorities that were more important than adjusters I went ahead and bought the Kings with adjusters. Wheelers black friday sale somehow allowed me to give myself permission to go bigger than I intended. I mean with 15% off the only way to save more money is to buy more expensive items... right?

I suppose not having enough money for everything I want to do will always be a problem but not having adjusters is no longer a 'problem'. So in theory I've reduced my potential problems by 1. I'll try to remember to come back to this thread in a year or so and evaluate my life choices for stray google searches that find this.
