Painted stripes on strut springs?

Are there specific strut springs for each side? If yes, which is for which side?

Is there any reason for those painted stripes on the springs?

One is driver, one is pass. Driver side has slightly taller coil usually to compensate for lean.

paint color codes change from different years. Probably just search colors and find a thread on here indicating which is which

 

I wonder why they used 4 marks 2 being the same color.
