At least half your comments are that there’s less noise in things. Maybe your hearing got worse in 3 years? It’s the same generation truck. I’d hardly think they made the parking brake clicks quieter.

I mean, I get what you're trying to say. But it isn't like there was a 3-year gap between driving the different trucks. So, unless my hearing got way worse in the span of 3 hours...your logic is bit little flawed.

I do believe I recall something being mentioned by Toyota at the 2021 Tacoma launch about improved parking brake clicks.

    Same suspension ?
    Type of tire ?
I put a fox suspension on mine and it improved ride dramatically.
Tires can make a big difference also.
End of the day its the same truck. Nothings changed from 2016 that dramatically.

Yeah, going from stock to stock. Big difference in driving experience for me is the engine and transmission tuning.

    Mostly dust and dirt.
So the seats didn’t change between 19 and 20?

Also note the thicker glass to help with noise insulation.

Is this fixed? I've got localized wind noise on my driver's window and 3 dealers have told me no issue.
But it's fckn annoying because I don't drive with music past 8 (because I still have my hearing)

You might be experiencing a different issue. I have zero isolated wind noise when the windows are up.

I dont see anything on the 21 that I couldn't live without vs my 19. Only real upgrade is the Android Auto/Carplay but could replace the head unit way cheaper than buying a newer model.

The power seats would be nice in addition to Carplay

I have no model year for comparison, because my 2021 is my first Tacoma. I have had it out on the highways and the backroads. to date. I haven't seen it searching for gears like some say, even doing 75 or 80 mph on the highway. When I take a look at my tachometer at those speeds, it is not revving at high rpms. Now, I only have 219 miles on it so far. As for 2021, it does have the adjustable seat, a godsend for somebody my size. I am making use of the Apple Car Play and my nephew, who has a 2020, noted that the compass is up on the mirror, a more convenient and safer way to use.

Only real difference I have noticed is the 18 is in my driveway and the 21 is on the dealer lot. Lots better things to spend my money on than an upgrade to the same truck that is 98% the same. I gave the seats 1.5 percent and computer stuff half a percent.

If you look at it that going straight over with no package changes, that's a fair statement. Not the case for me though...all said and done, I feel it was well worth the trade for me.

It's Toyota, garbage backup cam quality is explained by "reliability". Can't have it both ways guys.

I always buy my trucks based on the back up camera quality.
This will be my last Tacoma.
