Damn and I was close to buying the harness from him too... I've heard of his communication issues before in the other thread but it seems as though most members who bought his harness had nothing but praise for the actual product

That's literally what you've done throughout TT.

In fact it's straight weird the amount of water you're carrying for a total stranger.

Count me as an "entitled" buyer that expects to get what I pay for when I'm told I'll get it. I purchase that entitlement.

Could the buyer have gone about this differently to protect himself? Sure. That doesn't change the fact that all he did was pay for a product & believe it'd arrive when he was told it would. He trusted a vendor.

And I'll go ya one more, it's the SELLER's responsibility to communicate re: delays. He shouldn't have to be tracked down to ask why he's not doing what he promised he'd do. To whatever extent this thread is bad PR for him is a direct & foreseeable consequence of (best case scenario) poorly running his business.

Over the years serving my own customers I've learned by far the best way to handle issues that come up,

    1. be transparent - tell your customer exactly what the issue is & give a realistic time frame for resolution
    2. apologize
    3. ramp up the communication from that point moving forward b/c trust has been lost at that point to some extent whether it's your fault or someone supporting you.

    ****

That's it. No need typically to give away free stuff or kiss ass or anything else although sometimes you have to for more demanding people. People broadly know that stuff happens & people make mistakes & are generally forgiving - I know I am. It's when a person is in the dark & doesn't know or u/s what's going on & isn't being informed is when a situation can become red hot & the hotter it gets the harder it is to rescue.

    ****

The buyer is the victim here. The only thing he's guilty of is a little naivety which he won't be again thanks to this experience.

Hopefully dude's product he paid for shows up today or tomorrow.

What I find hilarious about this thread is every time I check it when I am not at home with my pi hole active, the ad at the bottom of the page is an eBay link for the harness for $75.

Okay, I guess I could have been more clear in my Pre coffee morning rant, I guess calling the OP an “entitled little shit” is clearly what is sticking out to everyone as though I’m trying to defend this shitty seller. I’ll admit that was a bit harsh. And probably unjustified.

I think the seller is shit, clearly horrible. And shouldn’t be in business. And likely won’t be much longer

I think the buyer shouldn't have used F&F PayPal, and should have been a little more patient before “joining” TW to bash this guy as a scammer, when it seems everyone else who has dealt with him has had the same issue, but at least they do get their parts. Albeit, waaaaay too long after they were promised.

I just think it’s worth noting that OP could have made a thread asking if anyone else had this same issue before accusing this guy of being a scammer. Maybe he is a scammer, but it seems like he just sucks at trying to run his business selling harnesses. But like I said earlier
Even OP admitted that F&F is why he had no recourse

Honestly whatever at this point. this isn’t even in my Gen forum.

Well, I don't have a garage so all that was done outside. Weather played a big role. Some weeks I could only get 2 days in. I started in March, and finished it around the end of June I think. It's a ass load of work but I love it. It's different, useful, solid and almost dry...Yeah, I have some leaks. The only MFG I had a problem with was RAM mounts. They are in Washington and those pussies emptied the factory and left one guy to run the whole operation. Huge mistake on my part. NEVER again..lol

thats legit, I’m assuming that you welded a bit, of not all of it??.

I really want an “all around access” camper for my work taco. But I think that’s a little bit out of my metal working skills. I’m about to start a weld yourself bumper here to get some practice in.

If it’s aluminum, does it have to be Tig welded? Or are there mig wire rolls for aluminum?
