It seems like you like the new one? I have been thinking about it and the red map lights for a while.

 

I had red maps and white dome originally. The white dome was just too damn bright when camping. Now, I leave it all red unless I really need white light, which invariably means being in the back of the truck. I could get switchable fronts...but I really don't see a case where the dome light doesn't provide enough white illumination.

 

I have some LED bulbs in there now and they are crazy bright. I think red would work nicely.

I have a red strip in the back. It is spot on for camping.
