Good morning everyone! Lynn and I did some work in the apiary yesterday getting the hives ready for winter. Pretty much closed up now - just need to add some food for them. Enjoy the day and the weekend!!

Good ideas. All I have is the wrap tie hanging down off my deck umbrella. I NEED to know wind direction, may want to go fly a kite, since it gets suggested loudly to me, from time to time.:notsure:

Good Morning folks. Great day yesterday and another nice one today. A little shrub trimming today to get ready for the winter. I don't have a green thumb and when I trim, the wife yells at me for killing them....but come spring they come back stronger than ever:thumbsup:. Just glad they don't die. Have a great day folks.

"evening Ken  Hope pup doesn't need the plate out. Girls are good. Thanks to modern medicine, Annie still hanging in there.... 2 gabapentin and 1/2 100 mg deramax a day, plus 3 joint supplement chews and she does fairly well for a 14 y + 11 mo old (on the 22nd) pup. Zoie still her same lazy self!!! So far so good - DIL's co workers all tested positive day before yesterday. One quick and one slower test and she's still negative. But, it screwed up Thanksgiving :pout: - can't even go up for the day  Sorry, but don't get to see them very often anyway, but now some of those days are gone."

Glad to hear Annie is doing better and hanging in there Sue. Better living through chemistry is my wife's motto:facepalm:. Happy Birthday to Annie. 15 years is a long time for a pup but it shows she had a loving, caring person looking out for her. On a sadder note, so sorry to hear that you won't be seeing the family for Thanksgiving and other times during the year. This virus has changed the way of life for everyone. Hopefully they all can stay safe and well. Can you at least see them on Face time or "whats app"? Hopefully in the near future you will be able to get with them again. You take care and be safe and be well.

    Kurt:
I like the wind socks nice touch. I suppose one could use a lid from a gallon can of paint to act as a baffle. I sort of want to put some party lights up in the cooking area on the patio. I have a set of Govee RGB WIFI lights under the canopy for illumination in the dawn to dusk times I am cooking.

I have a low end Davis Scientific weather station. It is decent but I have to clean out the rain collector about twice a year. I have it on an 11 foot pole but I still get tree debris in the collector and the function will stop working. I am going to clean it out today and replace the battery. Supposed to be in the mid 60's today.

Gave blood yesterday and it was a breeze. In and out in about 45 minutes.

I don't know which Davis I had, but it wasn't the best. I had it all on the fence, and the rain gauge was NOT self emptying. That was a pain. Believe it or not, the only problem I have with the Yellow Submarine up in the air is ANTS! When the last one died and I brought it down, there were THOUSANDS of ants that spilled out - they were living in it and killed it. I put the new one up, and they started back again. Sprayed them, and now the pole has vaseline on it!

I have the Vantage Vue. The only feature I would like is to to have a memory feature that does not lose the stats if the battery is replaced. There is no logging feature but it can be added, at a cost, and it needs to be hard wired to a computer. In the final analysis it serves its purpose and is easy to use.

If you want museums drive across Kansas on I-70 -- they seem to have a museum for everything -- one at every exit -just to get you to stop. At least this is the way it seemed in years past when we were driving across Ks to get to Colorado.

Welcome to the porch Danny. At 60 you are just a youngster around here. Kick back with a beverage of your choice and enjoy.
Sue is our guiding light on the porch and Lord knows some of us need guidance.
