a number of years ago, I had a nice buck coming in and early morning hunt out of a ladder stand, about the time it was headed towards me my flashlight falls out of my back pocket clanging down the stand...as i see the buck running off. Never to be seen again...:annoyed:

My daughter and her 13 point...thanks to her Pawpaw. Look at that smile. That's my girl!! Free skull mount headed her way as she placed 3rd in the youth section of our county. Pretty big family so tradition has it all the kids get to hunt first. Her cousin pulled a really nice 8 pointer last weekend. I may get a chance to hunt. But dang it no jerky from my daughter's buck. She brought home 5 bags of the best jerky I've had in my life last year...spicy but not too spicy and friggn delicious. We fought over the last bag. :D My son is iffy about getting his first deer this year....he's focused on football. Maybe next year is what he said last night. Football tourney for us at 10a. Y'all have a good weekend.

Friend of mine got this 6 this morning. He had a scar on his neck and also most of his tail was missing. Never seen a whitetail with no tail.

We had a doe on camera a couple years in a row I wound up shooting a few years back with a bob tail... Snapping turtle when they went for a dip maybe?
