Just wanted some advice on lifting my truck. I currently have 2 inch leveling kit and 1” blocks on the rear. Running 265/70/17. I was out with some friends doing alittle Offroad and I defenetly need alittle more clearance. I want to do a 3 inch lift and 285/70/17. Can someone recommend a somewhat budget friendly done right 3 inch lift? Thanks for any advice. Running with 17” Trd wheels

This is what I'm going for when the truck is paid off. 2-2.5 lift though. If you want to go for 3"+ you're gonna need baller money and prepare for drive line vibration troubleshooting.

    Suspension:
    Icon Add A Leaf (IVD-51100)
SPC Adjustable Upper Control Arm Set (SPC-25470)
    Bilstein 6112 Height-Adjustable Front Shock Set (2" 5/6 clip)
    Bilstein 600lb coil set
Bilstein 5160 Remote Reservoir Rear Shock Pair
Headstrong Off-Road 1/4" spacer (driver side taco lean)
    ECGS Bushing

3"+ would be OME BP-51, King, Icon, Fox, etc. But like i said, there's going to be compromises made. The big one is expensive damper rebuilds every 20-50K.

Someone with an actual lift can chime in, but that's my conclusion after research.

not a good idea to go 3”. That is the absolute max you would want to do on a 3rd gen. CV damage and more money out of pocket.

Taller tires (not necessarily wider 255’s vs 285’s) will be the best thing you can do if they fit.

Any suspension lift (other than Rough Country POS) with new UCAs will be better than a spacer lift as well.

im curious what kind of terrain you are going over where you think you need more clearance? Maybe armor would be a better investment as well. I have 1.5” in front and 3” in the rear running 32’s and have never had an issue except in silty mud

So I’m running rough country 2” spacers at front and “1 blocks at the rear. Anyone with 285’s on 2 inch lift ? I don’t Mind my current setup besides the fact I think I need adjustable UCA’s I got it aligned at Toyota and they said it was good but I can see the tires cambered in a tap bit

offroading with a spacer lift is asking for issues if you do it often. Your geometry puts a lot of strain on the components with spacers

You should be able to fit 285’s with a little trimming. You won’t need to if you do 255/85/16’s which will offroad just as well depending on your terrain

Honestly I’m not looking to do any difficult off-roading but I was out yesterday with my current setup and I couldn’t go up a hill climb my buddy with his jK was able to do with a 3” lift . I didn’t have the clearance for it .

Crawling over rocks like that you need larger tires to help raise your axles. Larger tires means you need wheel well work to make the larger tires fit, then you will need a better suspension lift to make the tires fit, then you will need upper control arms, a CMC, skids underneath, wheel well punch work, and so on. Do a search on TW...in the upper right corner search making larger tires fit and read what the folks are doing to make larger tires work! You said budget friendly...there is NO budget friendly about it if you start down this rabbit hole.

    Puck level
Im curious as well. My factory skids plates are well beaten and my transfer case and frame have some decent dents but still, I think the Tacoma has done well with a cheap puck lift.

    o_O:facepalm:

you gain less clearance with bracket lifts unless you put on 35’s+...Do you understand how this works?

and WTF? I literally just mentioned this brand as garbage...seriously trying to help you with that one. For literally $200 more you could do much better for your rig.

Nice kit. You will luckily need UCA’s also. Look into an aal set as well.
