Hey Rob, @JustDSM is the tuner you're referring too and he is who PhoS and I have been working with on our kits. He was able to do wonders on my truck and I'd recommend him to anyone.

    Welcome to tacomaworld!

Smoke House, are you still using the supplied booster pump? Or have you already installed a proper fuel pump?

The procharger web page is not very clear on what one gets with the full kit, or with tuner kit?
What tuner came with the tuner kit? And can it have new tunes programed into it? Can tunes be switched? On my 6.0 diesel, I had a few tunes, which was very nice, and I could switch when I wanted or needed.

Yes you can get it tuned here via Justin. The tuner kit doesn't include fuel injectors, fuel pump, or a tuning device(HPTuner). So you would need to buy those separately.

I do still have the fuel pump booster but I will be upgrading in the future. I'm a full time college student so the truck is on the back burner right now.

The full kit gets the blower, airtake and inlet, all the tubing required, One of the two intercooler options (the winch interior cooler is taller but not as long as the non winch intercooler.), 525 cc FIC fuel injectors, fuel pump booster, and an HP tuners RTD device with a procharger tune.

Tuning kit is the same exact kit just without the fuel injectors, fuel pump, or RTD device.

If you get the full kit you will need to purchase an MPVII device as well as necessary credits (4) from HPtuners to get new tunes loaded by justin or any other tuner. You can have multiple tunes as they are just files but to switch them you'll need your laptop, internet, and the MPVII device everytime you change

I believe @PhoS mentitioned he actually ended up spending more than the full kit once he bought the fuel pump, injectors, and tuning but if you were going to change them down the line anyway you might as well get the tuner kit

Hypothetically, how much work would it be to change from a TRD supercharger to a Procharger setup?

The install guide is available on prochargers site. (To reference and see if you are missing anything)

But I'd say the biggest thing is if you still have all the stock parts from pre s/c.

But if you were changing injectors from the s/c ones to ones in the prochargers kit (or other ones) it wouldn't really be all that much work. Just instead of removing stock parts it's removing the s/c parts and replacing them with stock stuff.

    Imo at least. :)

I do have my stock stuff. I’m curious what stock parts would need to be replaced for the Procharger setup.

    This.

Plus pulling the coolant manifold spacer off. Other than that, it should be an easy swap.

I'd really like to see someone with a built engine, install this kit and push its limits.

Who knows. Since I saw this kit in its infancy I liked it. However, I had my TRD blower already. I forgot about this thread and now after catching up it’s something I just thought of. Seems like I’d have to swap the fuel pump too from my 255 wahlbro.

That fuel pump would be fine.

Well this morning when I turned my truck on to leave I had a very concerning ticking sound that can be heard below. Popped the hood and I get to see a wonderful sight.

It looks to me like I've got some belt damage issues :annoyed:
    https://youtu.be/6ns3ZARFB94

oh and if anyone is wondering the procharger kit uses NGK 4902 spark plugs gapped to 32

I found that the pulley alignment is less than perfect out of the box. I ended up buying the Gates laser alignment tool and adding some spacers to some of the pulleys to correct it. You need to fix the alignment or it will keep chewing belts.

Yikes hopefully they get that worked out with their kit. I imagine that would piss someone off to spend that much $$ only to have to buy spacers to fix alignment issues.

The only thing I'd be concerned with is fuel. I could see it running into a lean issue cause "injector" lol

That’s impressive, nice and flat torque curve. Is this @JustDSM tuned?:D
