I’m Looking at the various options for brackets to mount a light bar behind the lower grille area. Has anyone tried a 30” curved light bar there?
I’m not against cutting the plastic grilles out.
Im just not sure if there’d be any advantages to the curved vs. Straight. ( have a local deal on a basically new 30” bar)
    Thanks

I don't see any point on going curved behind the grille - in fact, you may lose light output as the light bar may have to be mounted so far back on the sides that it gets cut off and effectively reduces the designed beam pattern width.

I would only consider curved if I were mounting a roof mounted light bar with just brackets. If I were to be an authentic overlander with a Prinsu, I would get a straight light bar.

I haven't seen any curved there. I don't think there would be any benefits

Behind the grille I went with a 30” Stealth Combo light bar from @Diode Dynamics. Not only does it look great, it performs flawlessly.

I got a great deal on a 30” curved bar (speed demon brand). Lifetime warranty and local so it’ll preform good enough for the price. Think I’ll get the diode dynamics mounts and maker fit. I’ll likely cut out the grille pieces so the bar can stick out a bit. I’m not worried about it being hidden. May have to extend the mounts slightly, time will tell.
Broke my finger earlier today so may be a few weeks before getting around to this project but I’ll keep it updated!

Well, I ended up getting Caliraised brackets which went on super easy. I ended up not using the curved bar, the only way it would have fit would have been to have it mounted back a bit in the brackets, the edges would not have had a good sight line through the grille.
I had a 30” (32”?) bar on my VW so I just swapped it. The curved actually fit the bumper/grille curve perfect on the VW.
The bar I now have on the truck was a cheapo I got off EBay 5-6 maybe even 7 years ago ($180cad) and it’s still working fine.
