Changing fluid should not cause this but weird things can happen.

Only the clutch can slip but if one had a major bearing failure causing enough movement gears no longer can mesh it could slip .

At that time it very well might sound like a box of marbles in a dryer .

No most often a slipping clutch means worn Mechanical parts.

Failed Hydraulics more of a failure to go into gear.

When I get another 4x4 all the gear box fluids get changed and the rest of the fluids

Anything not looked at real close before the purchase gets inspected

There's a service internal. Follow it, or don't.

Manual transmissions aren't like autos where if the fluid hasn't been changed in 150k miles it might damage the transmission to change it.

With a manual you can change it and not worry about that. In fact it I would highly recommend it even if it feels fine...gear oil breaks down over time/miles and should be changed.

I've never had a slipping issue after changing the oil, only time I've experienced slip is when the clutch is starting to go bad and after a day of offroading through mud. Clutch slipped for a day or two after that but eventually worked fine again, can only guess that mud got into where it shouldn't be

He means the factory service interval for the manual transmission oil change, I think it's every 50k? Don't quote me on that. I usually do mine around 30k just because.

There isn't anything in a manual that can slip. It either works or it doesn't. The oil is just there for lube and cooling.

Someone with moderator rights has moved my posts around. I don't know why that was done and that's really not something that should be done.

I never posted to this thread. Nor is the post that is quoted in my post related to my reply.

I think that you quoted somewhere, and accidentally posted it into another thread. We've all done it. No one's moving your posts around man. I assure you we're not bored enough for that...

    Moving on! :pccoffee:

Shouldn’t affect it. May be clutch? May be worth bleeding the slave cylinder

In any case my point was When I get another 4x4 Having no record of what if any service was ever done I just change the fluids the important word is I .

After all the quicky mart service can leave something to be desired and some figure as long as nothing breaks why service anything.

somebody on TW claims to have over 400k and 24 years without ever changing any gear oils and it works just fine to this day
i think it is 30k or 50k depending on use :notsure:
used to be $20 or so to change (30yrs ago) now its north of $100 is crazy
