Hello all, glad to be hear to bounce off ideas on how to make my truck better functioning and better looking. Proud owner of a ‘17 TRD Sport 4X4 in Quicksand. Was a lease had @ 38K miles. Original tires, rear about 3/4 worn and front 1/2 worn.

Since I bought it 3 wks ago I’ve added Husky floor mats, TRD Pro grille with LED lights and painted the front bumper valance and wheel well trim with under coating.

I’m planning on keeping this until I’m dead. I’m planning to use this truck daily and also convert it to a SHTF (Shit hit the fan) vehicle.

My first question is this, should I get a HiLine bumper or 3” lift next?

    Thanks!

Good looking truck and welcome to the forum.

The ones that last the longest with the least money spent on them are the ones kept closest to stock. If it ain't broke don't try to fix it.

My advice; when you decide to buy new tires go with 265/75/16's or 265/70/17's depending on which wheel size you have. That is as big as you can go with no modifications and virtually no downsides. Anything bigger really gives you VERY little advantage until you start getting into 35" or taller tires. And that requires major modifications with major downsides.

My 07 is 10 years older than yours with 209,000 miles on it and I've promised it to my 12 year old grand daughter when I die. And I hope she is in her 30's or 40's before she gets it. Other than moving up to a better 265/75/16 tire it is stock. Other than normal maintenance the only parts that aren't factory are one U-Joint and the alternator.

Even if you do decide to make some changes I'd suggest driving it for 6 months to a year before doing anything. Then you'll have a better idea of what you really need vs what looks cool.

Thank you. All excellent advice and I should shoot to do the same with a future grandkid. I have all girls so the first male grandkid might be lucky.

Welcome to TW! You may need heavier springs up front to support an aftermarket bumper.
