Had a brain fart and turned one of bumpstops incorrectly and snapped the bolt while I was trying to remove the stock front bump stop.

My whole front end is in pieces which should make this easy ( pulled my spindles to swap out for a gusseted pair ).

I’ve tried everything I can to extract the bolt with the LCA still attached but there’s no way it’s going to happen.

If I follow one of the guides on removing an LCA is there anything special I am going to have to do to put it back together? Every post I see is about burning out the bushings or putting a new ball joint in. Nothing about just pulling it and putting them back in.

Any advice or tips will be appreciated.

ending up dropping the LCA and doing that, I just marked where my cams were at with a marker so my alignment wasn’t totally gone

Oh yeah most definitely. I was happy it spun right out, the first bit wouldn’t move it and had to go up a size

I’m just happy that I could drop the LCA without any serious issues. I was worried the cams seized or something ( that would have been my luck )

So this just happened to me as well. What I thought would be a 10 minute job (as it was on the passenger side) turned into a much larger one on the drivers side.

So, I really really do not want to drop the LCA and drill. I could, but I really do not want to. Any alternative methods?

I heard it’s a 14mm bolt, but I couldn’t seem to get anything in there and get a grip on it.

also, to drop the LCA, do you HAVE TO loosen the cam bolts? Or can you just undo the lower ball joint?

How? You must’ve dropped the LCA though correct? Because I can’t fit a drill in there ):

I had to drop the LCA, I couldn’t fit anything in between to try and drill it out. Even tried a right angle drill. I actually marked my alignment put everything back together and it was still aligned.

    Okay. Thanks. Fuck haha
I guess I’m gonna have to jack it up and drop it. How easy did it come out with the drill
