on the back side of the flange that meets the fender piece, you need to drill a hole or two and use a bolt-washer-nut set-up to secure them to each other. I would not glue it in case it needs to be taken apart.

I was thinking of filling these open areas with expandable foam, razoring off the excess, then painting this whole area with a cheap black bed liner from the hardware store. I was thinking of getting some plastic tubing, running it from where my finger is touching out to the edge to help with water drainage. Can you guys think of any issues this may cause?

I was just thinking of filling in these areas to prevent mud and rocks and such from building up there.

I made some wheel well liners out of sheet plastic I bought on Ebay, 10' x 2' roll did all four. No commercially made products to solve this issue. Most run no liners at all. I like the finished look and protection which I believe is what you are after. Experiment and see what works best.

I believe that could be where the hvac draws air from if it’s like my 1st gen which I have good reason to believe since the cabin air filter is right behind the glove box in my 08. If the foam went too far you might have to open up the hvac from the inside and remove it. Maybe making a couple of bolt in abs panels like @kzrpk5 said or only to block that area in.

Here’s some info on that kind of stuff:

Well, the fender install went smoother than expected. Just had to do some shaving around the headlights, other than that I need to figure out how to properly mount the trim piece under the headlights. These didn't come with the tabs that the factory fenders have.

I have McNeil fenders and had the same issue with re-mounting the stock trim piece under the headlights. I used a zip tie through the headlight mount that also attaches to the fender, and then thread the zip tie through the outboard end of the trim piece (where it has that loop). The inboard end of the trim piece is connected using the original green push connector.

Tried my best to get half-way decent photos. You can see the blue zip tie going through the "loop" on the outboard end of the trim piece. I drilled a small hole on an inside lip of the fender to secure it.

This photo shows the oem green fastener that attaches in its original spot.

    IMG_0905.HEIC.jpg

And here's a look at it all. I had to shave off some of the front edge of the McNeil fenders for it to fit, but not a lot. Hope this helps!

Perfect, this is exactly what I needed. So simple, I would've never thought of doing it like that. Thanks

Anybody have any words of wisdom regarding Roadrunner Fiberglass?

I'd like to pull the trigger on the 1-piece clip.
    https://www.roadrunnerfiberglass.net/tacoma-05-08.html

I currently have original Glassworks Fiberglass front and back. Will I be downgrading or upgrading?

Anybody got an pictures of the Advanced second gen 6.5" front fenders? there website doesn't really do them a service of showing them with a good comparison of showing the 4" and the 6.5".

Did the 2” mcneils fit decent around headlights? I think lights are different between the 05-11 and the 12+. Could be wrong but wondered if they fit better on one front end vs another

Not the fender side of the headlights. Just the grill / hood part of the headlights - fender part numbers all the same 05-15 (metal & fiberglass, not fender flares iirc)
