CB0C49B4-167D-45A9-B6BA-49E67EF30E19.jpg I thought I’d try out some taxidermy work with this year’s archery kill. I was gonna do a full body mount, but figured I should start out small with this table top mount.:D

No, I let 8 or 9 bucks walk the first day...nothing very big. I did see a 130" 8pt the second evening but decided to go big or go home. Here's a 4pt I saw.

Hey all, looking to get into bow hunting for whitetail deer in RI and Mass. Was muzzleloader before but there are bow only hunting areas that I would like to access and I like the idea of bow hunting in general. From what I’ve seen most folks are looking for at least 200 for a used bow so I’m considering just getting a new bow package. Lots of brands/packages out there- any advice on getting started with bow hunting or companies to avoid that sell bow packages? Looking to stay in the 2-300 range for a bow knowing I’ll need to spend some more to get arrows, broad heads, field points, release, practice target, etc. Hoping to some day have some nice deer pictures to share on here

Instead of buying new, look on your local classifieds for a used complete package. Nothing wrong with used bows, if you have a friend locally who can help you look to avoid anything bad that would help too

I was in the same boat as you a year ago. Ask a ton of questions on here. Find a reputable bow shop locally if there is one. Most of them are willing to help even if they don’t sell you a bow

I ended up going with a new bow because, well, I’m irresponsible with money :anonymous:
