Had a great time on Saturday. Many thanks to Peter and Eugene for organizing this run and for the recovery 101 session.

    It’s a coincidence /s
They require to pay outrageous fees on top of already expensive day pass... Guess next year it has to be more of a friendly oriented location.

huh. interesting, thanks for the heads up. I wouldn't even reply.

there are also clauses where we need a group insurance and proof of it 30 days prior to the event, we also need to tell em 3 months prior to the even that we want to take over.

I'd tell em to take a hike (i'm in a rotten mood atm due to asshats at work). There was no issue with it last year with about the same number of vehicles, why the issue now?

I blame Facepalmbook, social media always at its worst!

Either way, I’ve got alternative locations for meets in the future. Not a problem.

i've "deleted" mine for a few reasons, which revolves around rotten people. this sort of issue is a new reason i won't get back into it outside of forums and smaller communities like this one.
You can't full on delete it anymore, it just goes into limbo until you come back or something.

glad to hear you have other spots in mind, looking forward to it

They want a permit when the event has 10 or more people: https://www.ganaraskaforestcentre.ca/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Forest-Regulations.pdf I guess it wasn't an issue in past years when the group was smaller. Reading through the website, I'm not sure if the event permit is intended to replace the day pass (i.e. a group rate) or charged on top of the individual day passes. In any case that's indeed a lot of extra baggage associated with insurance, damage deposit, and 3 month prior notice for a network of level-1 dirt trails.
"The use of any incendiary devices such as BBQs must be pre-approved..." I didn't know my camp grill is an NFA Class III assault weapon.

I hope the event cost includes everyone that shows up and no need to pay for a day pass. I wasn't able to find information confirming either the price of a daypass and the event or not.

I once worked at a place where within 20 feet of where i stood - i was able to make Napalm.

    Cement powder, Saw dust, Deisel.

I worked in a lumber yard.

being locked up due to the pandemic also doesn't help

Dood, I'm not locked up...I'm not depressed, my fuse is the same length as always when it comes to tolerance of stupidity...this is making an opportunity due to a "crisis"... also known as Gouging. Sure, they may be enforcing a rule long passed, but only enforcing it during a "pandemic" purpose. Fuck them, fuck them hard, with a brick...diagonally.

I dig the conservation aspect and approach, I really do and have actively participated in such endeavours in the past with Ducks Unlimited and such. But these cats? I'd like to see a forensic audit of their "conservation" $$$...follow the money as they say.

I would vote as a CUNT/TEQ/TEC/Russian Collaborator to boycott the hell outta this place...actually, I'll go one step further and withdraw my membership to above said club organizations should a stern rebuke from club leadership not be issued with this stance

Who is the mayor here now? Stand up and let your position be known!

Fuck em with Pete's old rusty half shaft, wipe off the grease first...no lube.

Damn, I grow some pretty decent :rasta:
