CoD: BlackOps Cold War

Picked up Cold War for my PS4 and got it yesterday. I picked up the PS4 version because 1. I wasn't able to snag a PS5 and 2. the PS4 version can be upgraded to PS5 specs for $10 at a later date. I love the CoD series but I pretty much skip every other game. I ain't got no time to buy a new one every year.

After the 4 hour download time (not including the campaign downloads!!!) I got in about 45 minutes of multiplayer team deathmatch gameplay. I'm loving it! It really brings it back down to earth. No specialists, no jump packs, no crazy weird guns. Boots on the ground action.

I came from BlackOps IV so I can't compare it to Modern Warfare but the graphics are noticeably better and respawns are quicker. Just a more polished game overall. Obviously not enough game time to get used to the maps so my K/D's aren't the best yet but in the 4 -6 matches I played I did rank highest on my team once.

Anyone else pick up a copy? Thoughts?

 

Just noticed over the weekend this is a cross-platform game. Finally playing with PC and Xbox players in addition to us PlayStation players.

Getting pretty good. Have settled on the M16 primary and a shotgun secondary.

 

Black ops 2 was probably my overall favorite. I played ghost and bo3 but not the biggest fan of soldier enhancements so I kinda moved on but this sounds like it might be worth checking out.

 

My biggest gripe with Cold War multiplayer is the spawns. I literally could just spawn, run 5ft and their whole team is already spawning right behind me. So annoying and lame. Otherwise, still digging the game... blasting through multiplayer team deathmatches.

 

It’s absolute trash. I dont play it at all.

 

I also absolutely can't stand the 'Skill Based Matchmaking'... I have a theory its not even skill but they nerf you the better you do. I can dominate one match... then the next the same shots I made in the previous match don't do as much damage, miss, etc. I'm boring, I play the same gun loadout every match, I play the same style... yet some matches what works in one ends up not working at all in another, which leads me to believe they are just nerfing you. Very frustrating.

 

Oh the skill-based matchmaking is ridiculous. Join a friend who is better than you and you’ll get absolutely wrecked by all the sweaty players.

And the stupid mines...argh
