    Hi all,

I thought I'd provide some photos of my headlights after 18 months of using Weathertech's LampGuard for the Tacoma.

I had previously just been using 3M kit to clean and seal the headlights but despite trying all sorts of chemicals over the years to keep the lights clear, nothing seemed to work. I even tried the Chrisfix method with similar results at a much cheaper price point. This past cycle, I did the 3M kit and after 3 days installed the LampGuard. From my personal experience, the headlights have nearly zero haziness after 18 months which is far superior than using cleaning kits and preventative maintenance measures.

I do have the Xpel on my Celica that was installed by a Toyota dealer in town - after 200 miles, it is already peeling and they are too busy to look at it - I was told I have to wait 7 months to get it taken care of. Weathertech did not have the LampGuard item for the Celica otherwise I'd have removed the Xpel and installed it by now. $50 is much cheaper than the +$500 I paid for the Xpel.

I put the Weathertech Lampguards on my wife’s Lexus about 3 years ago and they still look great. They are a very thick vinyl and have held up well.

I also put them on my sister's is350 - they've held up great but were an absolute nightmare to put on.

Full disclosure I had them put on by a buddy who does a lot of vinyl work. They look tough to put on because of thickness, however you do put them on wet so you can move them around

I have a 2007. I think I’ll save the $49.95 and continue the 3M kit. I have plenty of sealer left. Just need to get more sandpaper. Might try it if my truck was only 5 yea4s old, though.
