Body Armor front and rear bumpers Method 703 Wheels Falken wildpeak AT3’s Ironman Foam Cell Pro kit
    New Suspension lift 9/4/2020
    Got both CV’s replaced 9/18/2020
Replaced the passenger side one because of a torn INNER boot 11/11/2020 with no off-roading
Today I noticed grease everywhere on the passenger side again.... UGH once again no off-roading until today... pics were BEFORE I went to play in the snow.

    Thoughts??

I feel your pain! The CV boots/axles have been my only complaint with this truck. I've got a leaking one now that is less than a year old and in the 10 years of owning my truck I have gone through three or four sets of them. Admittedly, once my original Toyota ones ripped they've always been NAPA heavy duty ones or something similar. I have Bilstein 5100's upfront with the .75" setting and some OME coils which give me about 2" of total lift and it seems that those angles are enough to cause this to be a reoccurring pain in the butt....

I haven’t been off-roading till today. Picture of the grease was BEFORE I went and played in the snow.

I inspected and there isn’t a rip that I could see.

    What wouldn’t I clear on a street??

    Which brands have you used?

I'm looking at replacing mine as preventive maintenance. Maybe I should hold off until I hear funny noises or see grease all over the place. Knock on wood, my OEM CV shafts have been holding up. I've had a 2.75-inch lift since about 70K and never did the diff drop. I offroad in the desert mostly. I've been looking at the Cardone models - I got a Cardone for our Lexus and it has worked out well.

if I remember right the shop I used put Napa HD cv’s in. The lifetime warranty sounded nice but this is ridiculous

I wonder who their supplier is. Are you able to see the cause of the leakage? Torn boot, axle seal, loose boot crimp ... ?

    Just a little update....

The shop I had do my CV’s looked at it today and said the boot slipped off the metal cone...
They are going to use a different brand when they change it out on Wednesday. Said that they have never had this problem where they have given out so fast.

They also noted that the angle was not to severe... they work on all kinds of Tacoma’s and have installed the lift I have many times and haven’t had the issues I’m having with anyone else

I do trust them because they come highly recommended and again are replacing for free....
