I agree it would have to just be for stationary use. I can't see it keeping the antenna up while driving on its own.
There's a Rhino Rack mount and a Comet mount that might be workable depending on rack type. I'm going to see if I can find more out.

That Rhino Rack one does look sturdy. I do wish it had another axis of motion as well, but that might be asking for a bit much.

I messaged LLOD and asked if he could leave it up at highways speeds ... he said "Yup, it's solid"

Comparing a few of the models it looks like the Drive Reach and the Drive Reach OTR Fleet have about 50% more power than the Drive X and the Drive X OTR Fleet. The Drive Reach and the Reach OTR look like they are the same electronics except the Fleet model has a different shape antenna, antenna extenders, and mounting brackets instead of a simple magnet mount.

    Model MSRP Power (W)
Drive Reach OTR Fleet (471254) Quote 22.5
    Connect Drive 4G-X OTR (470210) $499.99 12
    Connect Drive X (475021) $399.99 15
    Drive Reach (470154) $499.99 22.5
    Drive X OTR Fleet (474021) Quote 15

Agreed on the Rhino mount. Nice, but not sure I'm ready to go $100 for a mount on this. Yet.
I ordered one of the Amazon mounts. I'll try it out and see.
I also have the RAM mount parts to fab the mount up. May try that and see what it does.

See how this does tomorrow morning.
ETA: This mounting will rotate at highway speeds/high winds. It usually only rotates back to about 30* or so, but at high speeds with high winds it will lay as far back as it can go.

Ugh, my wife got a look today at the fleet kit I picked up... she asked why I was spending so much money to make the truck look nice to then mount a dildo on a stick to it :boink:

I've been using the RAM ball mount for the past 3 days or so. It does shift. Not much, but it sweeps back about 10-15* depending on speed. I've had it at highway speeds and it seems that once it moves back to this point it stays there. I may try a machine screw and some fender washers and backup nuts to try to secure it better.

You got any specifics on the parts you used? And how/what you mounted to.

It's the parts listed by shacol. It's mounted through one of the slots in my roof rack.

@CttAznRanger here are some new pics of the mount and how I changed it today. I've noticed that the antenna cable is getting pulled on quite a bit with the way the antenna mast gets pushed back by slipstream. I also didn't like the crappy rail system bolt hardware that the ball base used. I went in to look for a fender washer and 1/4" bolt to use on the mount for a little more purchase. I couldn't fine any that would work, but I did find a carriage bolt that was 3/4" long. I figured the square should on the carriage bolt would probably fit the slot in my roof rack, and it did. So I moved the base forward to make the cable a little more slack, and put the carriage bolt in the bungee slot of my rack. Very close fit, and it helps to prevent rotation. I cranked it down pretty good and the mount stayed in place for the drive home. I'll see if it stays in place or if it was the antenna cable tension keeping the mount from going further back.

Here's the head of the bolt, pushed up into the bungee hook slot. The antenna cable now loops back forward over the load bar so there is a little more slack.

The mount moved forward one slot set. Shows the ball base, knuckle, and 9mm ring pieces.
