Are you aaabbssolutelly sure on this one? I know you're the creator of this an all... But I've run several tests with matching ECT and D shift points but I've tripled the sensitivity of the pedal in ECT with the throttle management - throttle limit tables. When in ECT it downshifts with A LOT less pedal than in D which leads me to believe the shift table axis is throttle, not pedal. 15% pedal could be 15% throttle in D, but 20-30% throttle in ECT.

I have asked Matt for clarification. Unlocking does not give you access to tune packs. I've unlocked many ECUs.

I could sell it to you. It's called a tune pack.

Unlocking an ECU unlocks access. The tune pack contains 2.0 maps. Without the tune pack, you'd just have the stock tune and ability to edit it. And flash it obviously.

I’ve already purchased credits to unlock it, why tf would I buy it from you.

edit- edited my post. Really need the p5f files instead. I’ll use my credits later towards something else.

I understand you're upset, but if you're going to be an asshole while you were asking people for a favor, you're going to get that attitude right back. I could've sent you the link to those p5f files. I no longer will do so. Hopefully somebody else helps you out.

not being an ahole - I have a potty mouth, sorry. I got it figured out thanks to @uploadadventure even though he is sick in the bed with the Rona he told me how things worked. I thought I needed the vft files but I actually only need the p5f files instead for what I need. I’ll use my credits later on one of my GX’s unless I need to buy that tune pack separate.

I thought the p5f files were all on the website but it looks like they were taken down. I should have downloaded them when they were still posted. I only have 04B04 files at the moment.

@Mooseditty17 @PapaRee which one of your “performance tunes” would you recommend to use? I’ve got a local guy who I updated his ECU from 04B00 to 04B04 and flashed to 2.0 33” THX Premium, but he was “meh” when I asked how he liked it. I know he runs 93oct, has 32” tires, and otherwise mostly stock. I told him we could try some different tunes until he found one he likes. Trying to give him some more options rather than the standard 2.0 tunes...thanks

So, when you unlock a new ECU what file(s) DO you get then? Do you get a single 2.0 file to edit on your own or are you stuck with the stock tune that is editable and you’re on your own to figure it out?

You get the rights to edit any files that are codes for that ecu.
So you have by default the stock files from downloading vftuner already to edit.
If someone gives you a file you can study it or edit it.
If you wanted to look at what a 2021 ecu looked like to learn more, you could unlock that (to give you another application).

My opinion is that you should unlock ecus and verify or edit or transfer information before tuning.

So if I wanted to defray the cost of the kit with someone with a different ECU we would have to purchase 2 sets of the 2.0 tune packs for each respective ECU right?

    I'm not sure I understand...

When you increase throttle limits, you are effectively moving the power earlier in the pedal. Presumably then, you modified your ECT shift tables accordingly. Having done that... smaller pedal movements in ECT do the same thing as larger movements in D. What I think you are saying you are experiencing is what I would expect.

Speaking of throttle limit tables, earlier I was trying to get a better understanding of the numbers... they certainly don't match throttle. (i.e. how does going from 1 to 2 compare to 10 to 11... they are not linear.) No big deal, I figured I would equate them to MAF... I mined some long logs and got some nebulous plots that I guess I'll have to go through to cull some 'bad' data. My 2nd gear plot was pretty funny, I thought...

Guys I'm posting my own quotes here to show what i did to some extremes and show kind of what i found.

    1. I know my MT is different from your ATs

    2. I do not know what maps you guys have as far as throttle go.

    3. I do not recommend changing maps like this due to un predictability of these changes, i only tested for a short while.

If you look at my above quotes i took the primary throttle table and dumped the numbers significantly.

It did not do what you would assume.

I feel that table was more of a sensitivity thing than anything.

With that said. I noticed that the table -accelerator throttle request to air load referenced throttle angles in the z axis that perfectly matched throttle angles in the y axis of the other throttle tables.

But what does that mean? I'm not sure either.

My guess and assumption is that the throttle pedal (torque request) and what throttle angle you get, is not a single table but a reference to multiple tables deepening on different conditions.

No, i don't know how to directly manipulate the throttle pedal in relation to anything else.

The only reason I'm posting this here, is to show that there is probably more involved in what you see vs what you get.

This probably won't actually help any of you understand, i still don't understand, but it did get me to look into other tables to find what i wanted.

My truck is now as smooth as ever.

And yes, once i realized that the throttle pids in vf were not related to the pedal itself, i quit focusing on direct relation between my foot on the pedal and what i was getting on the logs and focused on getting the truck to do what i wanted. Which was smooth acceleration with predictable throttle response.

Thanks for sharing. Seems analogous. ATs have 'throttle limits' per gear and airload table.

Changes to each seem to have a similar effect which leads me to the same conclusion... they probably work together in some hard to quantify/decipher way. At least for ATs one set is per gear and one is for all gears... curious why the MT seems to have two global maps that would appear to achieve the same outcome.

...and there are apparently more throttle maps for M/T that Mat mentioned - which we don't have access to yet AFAIK.
