Hey yall , so I'm replacing wheel bearings on my 4runner and I've done this job numerous times but I've never seen what I've encountered here. The wheel bearing hub assembly has completely been just shredded and destroyed all innards of the assembly. I can't seem to get the bearing housing away from the knuckle and since the hub is no longer attached and can't be put back on in order to cheat the assembly off the knuckle idk how else to get it off. There are no reverse side holes to put bolts in to try and force it out and can't seem to get it from front . Any suggestions?

You need to force/drive a narrow chisel in between the flange face and the spindle housing.

Are you sure this is an 03? Looks newer.

Probably went through an intense cooking cycle when the bearing shredded. I'd try heating up the knuckle slowly with a torch around the bearing sleeve, douse it in liquid wrench, and then seeing if I could work it out like that.

Another idea that I'd try is welding a bolt on the hub face on each side and then going at it with liquid wrench and a slide hammer. Your ball joints will hate you, but it's all I can think of at the moment

Yeah I assumed the same with the heat cycle when it shredded. I did end up getting it apart after beating the hell out if it and slipping flat head pry bar between the knuckle and bearing. I will put up some pics to show. The tin pieces on backside of assembly and in between were completely gone and roughly a handful of shavings sat in the housing. It surprised the hell out if me.

An air hammer with a chisel bit will solve lots of problems.
