Why? i know they had fitment issues with aftermarket cv boot on the first truck but iirc they're all good now . And they have what he wants with the delrin/uniball combo and usually do black friday sales. I have their UCAs and have no complaints

As stated, don't let the ball joint on the DK arms scare ya. It's plenty strong and has the advantage of being sealed from the elements. For stock applications, I like the DK arm better.

Nice and tidy. Top-notch work as always, Shane

I appreciate the feedback guys. I dont mind Balljoints, just wanted to make sure nobody was having issues with them or if they were subpar. They've got zerks on em so thats cool. I'm leaning towards the DKs honestly.. I like the idea of Delrin bushings.. plus they're somewhat cheaper as well. I was also thinking if the Delrin bushings are that much better, but I really wanted Uniballs, I can easily turn some Delrin down at work and make my own bushings.

Just tired of blowing LCAs wheeling. been a long time coming for this upgrade. should have done it a loooong time ago.. I would have paid for some already with all the replacements so far.

any Black Friday deals on some? lol

If you're looking for more budget friendly options for shocks, then yes, that shock could be a great option with BAMF's 12" relocate. Mind you, it's a 2.0 monotube emulsion shock that doesn't have remote reservoir, so you'll lose some performance there. I'd explore bilstein's other offerings to see if you can find one with RR.

Getting rid of the OEM bushings will be a big upgrade. Hammer Hangers or BAMF hangers will be another big upgrade.

I just replaced my original LCAs, went with some Detroit's for $125. I was surprised with how easy it was to get them out and in. Truck rides a little better with new bushings and tie rods.

Hey guys, so I took over wife’s 16’ 4runner as my DD. So of course ordered some upgrades. I’m gonna be putting on some icon ext travel 2.5s and just a simple 1.5” spring in rear with 5100s. I know it’s not a tacoma but very similar. I thought I read that a diff drop on 2nd gen (5th gen 4runners) is kinda a waste. Can someone confirm? Also on the front I know extended brake lines would be smart but is it necessary? Anyone know about the rear on a t4r, if extended brake lines are needed with only a 1.5” spring? Any help would be appreciated! Sorry it’s not a tacoma lol

Skip the diff drop, it is pointless. No need for extended lines with that setup. I did a 2” lift up front and 1.5” out back on my wife’s and there’s no issues with brake lines unless you want to upgrade to steel braided lines.

Be warned though with the wheel speed sensors up front. 3rd gen Tacoma and 5th gen runner got much smaller internal wires than older models. If you let them get tight with any weight pulling on them you will break the wires internally. Ask me how I know :anonymous: and they aren’t cheap to replace

Thanks! That’s what I thought about the diff drop. So no new brake lines even with extended travel... don’t think my old red taco got em with the icon ext travels I ran. It that was long ago... I will upgrade to steel brake lines at some point. What size tires you running on her runner? No UCAs? The icons I got come preset with ~2” lift. I want to run 285/70/17 on stock wheels for now. Think 2.5” lift might help a bit more as I won’t be able to get the BMC done for a bit. Shit is snowballing, gonna be LT fully caged before I j is it

Any guys running the JBA high caster UCAs (standard not HD model)? I want TC, Burg or icon UCAs but like the price of the JBA. I have Gucci taste but Walmart wallet...

Ooh forgot you said extended travel. I went cheap with just spacers for now knowing she’ll want long travel some day and I’ll talk her into staying mid travel so we don’t have to cage it ..... and snowball lol.

But I really think you won’t need extended lines with the extended travel up front. I know I didn’t have it on mine when I was mid travel

285/70/17 tires and no ucas. Was able to get like 3.8* castor surprisingly with stock

Dirt king has ball joint uca’s for a reasonable price. Put those on my neighbors 3rd gen and they work great. Got a little over 4* castor out of them
