What's up everyone! Just bought my first Tacoma recently and am hyped on it. I got a pretty basic model (SR5 RWD) and am loving it. For my lifestyle it is perfect; skating, surfing, and mountain biking. What were the first mods everyone did? Thinking on getting bigger tires and wheels and suspension and charging through the desert. I no with my RWD I will have limitations on off-roading, but am still interested in the more light trails. Any suggestions, RWD owner off-road stories, or comments? Looking to connect with more people!

Good stuff! Got my 2020 SR RWD this month.

So far most of my add-ons have been smaller scale and general function oriented with a couple things aimed at improving trail worthiness.

I’m planning to resell and upgrade in a few years so my general rule is that everything needs to be as non-permanent as possible in case I want/need to pull it.

Things done or in progress so far:
    Clazzio seat covers
Tow hitch (to use as rear recovery point)
    Splash guards
    Glove and center console organizers
    OEM remote tailgate lock
    Compustar remote start and alarm
    Bed cover
    Front recovery point
Engine skid plate (I’d prefer to cover the entire belly but it seems most kits don’t fit the 2wd SR)

Bigger tires are def interesting though I’m not ready to drop the cash and potentially hit my mpgs for ‘em just yet.

Have fun! It’s insane how quickly you start adding things. :)

What are you planning on trading it in for? That recovery gear comes in handy I’m sure!

Either a 4x4 Tacoma or Tundra at a higher trim level. :)

Maybe even the hybrid Tundra if that becomes a real thing in the next few years.

    OE bed mat.

Read the owners manual and mark useful pages.

    All immediately useful.

    After using it a while,

OE suspension removed from a low mile 3rd gen OR

Slightly larger tire with a tread suitable for how you use the truck 90% of the time.
