Has anyone here installed a Milford LoadMax on a North American Tacoma?

I’m preparing to mount a GFC Superlite to a Prinsu Toprac. This will be on top of my Leer XR100, on a short-box Tacoma OffRoad.

I should have purchase a reinforced topper in the first place. That said, we were heading out on a cross country trip at the time, and the wait for a reinforced model would have thrown our trip schedule.

I have enough invested in the current topper that I want to just stick with it (resale value is dismal; and it’s already fully mounted, wired, et cetera).

So, I’m going to buy extra mounting feet for the Prinsu to better distribute the load. I’m also planning to install bed stiffeners to avoid any issues with the bedsides.

My last step is to add some internal supports. My dad’s a fabricator, so, he could likely help me with this. That said, he’s already helped me with a lot of these sorts of projects. I kind of hate to bug him about yet another thing.

I figured that something like the Milford LoadMax might be a quick way to add some reinforcement. That said, I’m not sure if it’ll actually work with a North American Tacoma, as the bed walls are enclosed.

From their installation video, it appears that they’re relying on that lip at the top of the bed (perhaps more common on a GM or perhaps Hilux?) to mount the bottom bracket. I gather I could modify this somehow to drill into the top of the bed, or, mount to the existing track. At that point, though, it might make more sense to go fully custom.

I’ve seen a few posts about this product on the forum, but I haven’t seen any notes of a successful install on a North American Tacoma. If anyone here has done this, or has thoughts on the above, I’d welcome your input. :)
