Okay, here is what I’m talking about. I’m sure in your case the components are worn also but with the spacer, there is no need for a “custom” replacement. If you choose to go this route.

I have replaced the coilovers on my sons truck with OME/Bilstein setup. He also had the fabtech 6” lift installed.

    Here’s the 95.5 - 04
    6” Fabtech lift kit.
You can see all the components there. Not sure about the front shocks/coilovers
    Looks kinda weird

Edit - I see. Notes indicate it uses the stock coils

hmmmm ya ive seen the fabtech parts, called them and they didnt really have anything for me. they said to get new springs somewhere elae and buy a new leaf kit, somewhere else... thinkin more about some adjustable shocks with a large spacer on the top and finding a shop to build me a new leaf pack...

Adjustable coilovers are always better than a spacer. Same with a proper leaf pack than a block & an AAL.

i would agree, but to maintain the same height i have now, my strut is much longer than normal struts cause of the 6" lift. so would i need to have something custom built or does someone make that size? thats why i was considering a spacer...

King, Icon, Fox, Dirt Logic, Bilstein and I think Pro Comp all offer a 6" lift coilover for the 2nd gen, not sure about 1st gen though

@SoTexTacoma just curious, if u did this swap on your sons tacoma with the bilstein setup, how does he like it? does it ride good with those spacers? and how tall spacers did u use? i went to 4 wheel parts and they said spacers are a bad idea but also thats my only option unless i want an expensive custom strut built...

So yeah, he thought it was a huge improvement over the old, worn setup. He said that it noticeably refreshed the feel of the truck. Also, I’m talking about the bilstein setup that came off my TRDOffRoad when i refreshed the OME/5100 setup. Whatever was on his truck, was total garbage. The spacers were the 6” ones that i guess came with the Fabtech lift. (He got the truck already lifted) I’m pretty sure I’ve seen them on some of the kits and just assumed they could be sourced.

hmmm well the fabtech lift doesnt come with those spacers so i guess my next mission is to find those somewhere and figure out what new coilovers to get... or maybe splurge for some fancy adjustable ones but i was also told it wouldnt b worth it with my setup... thanx for the info!

If I were you, I’d get rid of the 6” and get a 3”. If you wanna keep the lift, get rid of the fab tech stuff tbh

LMAOOO 3K for all that TRASH. Wow. Shocking. For 3K, you could buy 2.5 CO’s up front, 2.0 resis in the rear, and a brand new HD leaf pack from All pro or OME, and get to the same cost, WITH tax. I’m not sure if that’s everything you’d need for the 6” lift though, obviously longer brake lines and such are needed. Just, shocking is all

Dude if you have all that weight on the front and you actually use your truck, even if you just Drive on the high (but especially if you use your truck) get a nice suspension/suspension lift and ditch spacers man. Spacers are ass.

haha for sure. u just found out that icon makes coilovers for the 6" procomp lift that works with mine as well. just debatin on adjustable compression or not. its still a slightly custom build but its my only good option. might get the hammer and grinder out again ta clear some more tire room until i can find a sale and wait for parts to b built cause i scraped my tires a few times yesterday when hittin some trails.

Yeah man ICON CO’s are good. I mean, I like mine and havent had a problem with them. If you do have a lot of weight, might as well get the adjustable because at high speeds it will make a difference (based on my knowledge/understanding). Yeah I feel haha. If I were you I’d get a 4” rear leaf pack and a 6” in the front but do it through suspension only. Get some nice front and rear shocks. Maybe a new UCA.
