@BassAckwards . You have two trucks. Pull one coil pack out from each and lay them side by side.

No worries, I think I am wrong, I thought the part numbers were different bc they were between my 2013 4.0 and my 2009 2.7. I think the part number just got updated though. After looking at both online they both say they were replaced by 90919-A2006 so they should work for both I think

The convenient thing about Toyota is there is a ton of interchangeability and they use the same parts for various models. The 4.0 coils will fit 2.7s, as will the fan clutch, etc.

    Cool stuff.

    Correct. ^^^

I've used my coil packs on a 2AZ-FE. Scion. It was just too long. Worked fine.

With further correspondence, will they off the dwell times, say if using the Haltech, or HP Tuner?

Ordered these just now since the pricing seemed fair. If I don't notice any changes after installation I hope they just help support my upcoming stroker build. Got a nice tune right now from JustDSM for my SC so we shall see.

I ordered these during black Friday. Throttle response was noticeably improved: more succinct with pressing the pedal. It is a SUBTLE improvement, however. I flashed mooseditty's newer(ish) tune - that adds his adjustments but maintains ovtunes original shift points - shortly after the install and cant comment how it affects MPG or the advertised "20-30whp gains". Let's just say my socks remained on my feet.I thought the truck seemed to shift better from 6th to 5th when needed instead of jumping to 4th but it might have been in my head. Install was easy. They fit snug on the plugs. The truck at idle seems more pronounced, too - whatever that's worth.

I have added 4.88 gears, ovtune, and now these. I would say all of these additions improved my driving experience but no one addition dramatically altered the truck.

Future considerations are going to ovtune's catted dump tubes and a full exhaust by dirty deeds. None of these are "needed" but I'm left wanting more, because why not.

Hope this helps to contribute to the knowledge base.

Any updates on these? I’m curious on how they’re holding up. I had ordered them a few months ago but they canceled the order and said they had to resolve some issues before continuing to sell them.

    Update from RIPP (2/15)

As of right now we do not have an ETA on the redesign. We are currently
handling a few new products with the manufacturer and will be ordering
these new products together with the redesigned coil.

They did not fit well or line up on the 2nd gen. No issue on the 3rd gen or folks that retrofitted the on a 2nd gen. It was nothing to do with the coil pack but rather the fitment of the coil pack. I could not get it to line up well enough to have a proper seal. Although not required to run the I run my truck I was not good with a partial seal.

if you have to force something to fit its not a good fit so most if not all returned but specific to the 2nd gen.

not sure but a bunch of us got the 4.0 ones they released a while back and the fitment was not great. They were off just enough to not let it sit well. Might be that that fitment has no issues on the 2.7L but plenty of us tried. Only ones with success were ones that modified the 4runner versions to fit.

If you look at the RIPP 2.7L model, and compare with the RIPP 4.0L for 4Runners model you will notice the difference in mounting.
Now if you look at what the Tacoma OEM has for a mounting hole position, and compare to the RIPP model for the 2.7L model you will notice the RIPP 2.7L version has the mounting hole in the right place.

EDIT: I'm wrong. In looking at the pic for the RIPP 2.7L coil packs, the mounting hole is offset, not more centered like the OEM, and appear to be the same as their 4.0L model.
