Looking for ideas for mounting a 3 way setup in 3rd gen that are 2", 4" (actually a little smaller at 1.8" and 3.75") and of course 6.5". I would prefer the 4" in the door somewhere (maybe room to mold it below armrest at the front and still aim correctly?) and 2" in sail panels? Ideally I would like to "cross fire" the mids and highs so passenger side points to driver and vice versa. The goal would be an oem appearance and as stealth as possible. So if that wouldn't work I might consider the mid at pillar either custom molded, if it would even fit, or an aluminum pod and tweet in sail panel. I'm not too keen on that approach though honestly... How much room is there in A pillar with the airbags?

So let's see what you guys got, especially in 3rd gen but any examples would be great! Thank you!

I just ordered everything last night, so it might be a couple of weeks before I have some pictures, but I'm doing a complete gut job of a 2020 JBL system. I'm going with the Morel Maximo Ultra 603. The 6.5" in the Door, 2.5" in the dash, and 1" tweeters mounted to the sail panels.

You should really like those Morels! I started to go with the Elate 603. Are you going to do anything for rear fill? What other gear are you going with? Look forward to hear what you think of those!

Morel mt350 tweeter with surface mount pod. 3.5” cdm600 in the dash, and morel hybrid 6.5 in the door. Running an alpine x a70f for the doors and tweets. Alpine pdx v-9 for the mids, rears, and jl w3’s. Everything is tuned through a helix dsp.2

I have put in Racesport gen3 leds I'm the process of doing a custom audio overhaul which will include Hybrid audio unity 6x9 mid bass, unity 3 inch mid driver in the dash and fiberglassing tweets in pilar soundeading all the doors, floors, and headliner and I will be using a helix processor to retain the factory radio and as far as subs I might make custom brackets to move rear seat foward a few inches to get a full size sub in there or I might just go with a pair of jl tw5 or tw3 and it will all be powered by jl audio HD amps or I might try out the new hybrid amps

    Too much.
Are those the pods that came with Your tweets? I'd love to move my tweets from the dash.

Yes. These came with tweeters. They are really nice and match the interior. They need some power though. I wouldn’t run less than 100 watts to them. It’s the best tweeter I have heard.

I wish I could find some pods like that! I have a few 3d printers getting me quotes. I really need a place for mids also as I just don't know about the factory dash spots.. I have a few more things to buy but will start a build after the holidays, once the rest shows up. This holiday shipping is getting ridiculous!

My fabrication skills aren’t on the level of these guys but this is what I’ve got currently with valicar ball bearing tweeter pods mids in dash corners and these aren’t the mids I’ve currently got in.. I’ve got them mounted the same way though but no pics... I’m searching for a pair of utopia No7 3 inch mids to replace the Mille legends I’m currently using but I’m loving the valicar pods image.jpg image.jpg 5762982A-BAF2-40CC-AA6E-489B4BFC17E8.jpgD628E62C-1CCF-41D5-8EEE-CC6607B8749A.jpg FF316773-76D9-4B63-BAF7-99C45D1FD28B.jpg

Nice, how was the cdm600 fitment in the dash corner? any modifications to make it fit? bolted down or just held down with the grill cover as I see the grill a bit lifted in one of the pics

it's an old thread but if you're still active...

The cdm600 drop right in. I just swapped them for the cdm880, also fits nicely.

I'll probably do the tweeter a-pillar mount as yours, looks great!

how do you like your 3-way?

all the new morel tweeters come with a similar surface mount pod. I liked my 2-way setup but the 3-way is on another level. Definitely do it if you have the funds and equipment.

Has anyone that ended up with the tweeters in the a pillars or sail panels tried putting the tweeter up by the mid-range and the dash before they ended up moving them? Just wondering on the imaging and differences if so, I know tweets and glass off axis always sound too harsh but wasn't sure if dsp could fix that issue. Sails are easy to make so just going that way from the start may be the way to go.
