    Greetings,

Have a 2014 Taco. Would like to DISPLAY/VIEW the tire pressure readings occasionally.
Is there a way to have the OEM TPMS' be read by some other device? Or, is there a mechanism on a stock "Limited" TACO to view the pressures?
I *could* buy a valve stem TPMS kit with a FOB, but seems silly since sensors already exist...

    TIA,

    Taco On!

You'll need aftermarket parts as you suggest, or swap into a 3rd gen.

I prefer to stay with a good tire gauge and weekly checks.

I have a Kenwood stereo hooked up with a Maestro that does it that way unless you are planning to upgrade your stereo. It is a little on the expensive side to do it that way though.

I think you can hook up a bluetooth reader for the OBD2 port. And then use an app on your phone (like Torque) to read the TPMS info.

Google "Toyota PID for tire pressure". The info is on a bus but the specifics still seem to be a little unclear.

I check tire pressures occasionally. Each time I take on fuel, I use my manual pencil gauge. Simple, quick, cheap (about $6 for a 0-50 psi gauge).

Kenwood with a Maestro will run you about $600+

Don't know of a simple solution to digitally read all 4 (5) tires at one time.

Scangauge will show tire pressures. However, you can only show 4 readouts at a time. It’s a pain to switch between trans temp, coolant temp, tire pressure, etc. You can run 2 Scangauges with an OBD2 splitter. Here is mine. This is before I had all my sensors. That’s why 1 shows 0.

TPMS is great as a warning device to let you know if you have a sudden loss of air pressure while driving. But it isn't a replacement for an air gauge. IMO having the ability to monitor each tires air pressure constantly just isn't worth the cost.

What’s TPMS?! I’ve had rubber valve stems for years and pulled the dash light. It lives on in my avatar! Started driving before all these nanny systems

Keep it worth top dollar. You never know, might get an offer you can't refuse. Meanwhile, it's part of your net worth.. money in the bank.

    Greetings,

Didn't mean to cause a :crapstorm:. Was hoping there was an easy option for displaying information the vehicle already knew, without adding a whole new subsystem. I like gadgets, bells and whistles...

I think this option will probably be the easiest:

Also, I didn't know the ScanGauge could display tire pressure. I kinda regret getting an UltraGauge now.

You could probably still get an OBD2 splitter and run a Scangauge and an Ultragauge. Like I mentioned above, changing the readouts on a Scangauge is a real pain.
