Wrong. Pull like the lives of everyone depended on it. If it doesn't snap or pull out the recoil assembly, you didn't try hard enough (i'm getting this info from the experiences of customers and their mowers) In reality, most pull starts; once you get the slack out, should start in less than 1ft of movement
