Have you ever changed out the fuses? Like change the 30 to a 20?

I have not. I believe I asked about that and I think the answer is that you cannot change them out but they are helpful if you want to give them a call

Great write up! I’ve had the 6 Shooter for almost 8 months now, and finally got around to hardwiring the magnetic switch dock after the RF remote lost connection.

I put the switches in the sun glass holder. Ran the wire over the headliner and down the driver A pillar.

I was able to successfully hardwire to 12v, as I was able to reset the RF remote to the controller. However, the backlight isn’t working as it should. I dock the remote, and the toggles flash brightly for a second, then dim, then go dark until a toggle is rocked. Might have a loose wire. I’ll be contacting them tomorrow to troubleshoot.

Overall I’m happy with the setup!

Did they give you a solution? I am having the same problem. I contacted them and they mentioned an issue with iOS 14.

Called their landline and troubleshooted with a support rep. They recommended I check the screws on the back of the RF controller and the magnetic dock, all of which were tight. They said that sometimes the screws during assembly can be sticking out, causing a loose connection. They also said to check all connections to ensure they are good, and nothing is shorting. I did - soldered all connections and used heat shrink. They said another thing to try is to bypass the switched hot, and wire both red and white together to another switched hot...? Checked everything, and still no luck. They said to give them a call back, but I’m not sweating not having customizable backlight colors too much lol. Everything else works as expected. I’ll probably give them a call back eventually. Never thought about the issues being linked to iOS 14. That could be it, since I was able to reset the RF code being hard-wired to constant 12v.

Thanks for the info. I’ll double check everything as well. I’ll follow up with them to see if there is anything new regarding the iOS issue.

Followed this step by step to hook up RF switch and for some reason now my exterior lights work intermittently. It would turn on for 2 secs and shut off. Disconnected and reconnected my battery cables and lights worked normal. Then mins later my lights don’t turn on at all...anyone else experience this?

this happened to mine, yours is likely stuck on the low voltage cutoff feature. check the app to make sure the low voltage cutoff isn’t set at too high of a voltage level. a hard reset fixed mine. there are instructions here: https://triggercontroller.com/trigger-controller-support/. their tech support over the phone is also very helpful if needed!

    to hard reset:
    1. Disconnect your 6 SHOOTER from power using either positive (red) or ground (black) cables. Make sure the yellow wire is receiving power during this procedure
    2. Hold down 2 and 5 on the control box while reconnecting to power, you may need a helper for this. Circuit 6 will flash 3-4 times and then remain solid
    3. Release buttons 2 and 5
    4. Your Trigger 6 Shooter has been reset

Thanks for a quick reply! I’ll def check that. Noticed they updated to a new app as well so that may be my problem for why my app wasn’t working. I’ll come back and update to verify it worked! Thanks again!

I have to say this was a very well done instructional post. If you are going to install a trigger, pc3coyote just made it super easy for you. Well done, sir.

I also just wanted to put this out there since I had a trigger 4 plus installed on my truck for a while, before I made my transition to a Switch Pro.
There are a few things I did not like about it for those considering one. I didnt like having it mounted to the top of my fuse box. My system ran hot and that concerned me. I also started to have issues with flickering lights. It actually ruined a pair of Baja designs sports that I had as ditch lights and luckily I was able to get them replaced, but after that issue I switched to a switch pros and everything has been great after that. The clear plastic cover was not sealing correctly and I think I was getting some moisture inside of mine and that might have been the cause of the issue. Also the trigger is supposed to be able to connect to your phone very easily and mine never did, which the switch pros was very easy.
Overall I'm very glad I made the switch over from the trigger to the switch pro.
Just wanted to put that out there for anyone who was considering a new lighting solution.

Hi does the switch not light up without any lights being turned on, so I can see switches in the dark?
I wired red and white wire together and to raptor style lights that come on when and black to ground wire

Are you still using the Six Shooter? Has anyone else had success with this system? I really want to have a distribution system like this, but the SwitchPros is way out of my price range...

i just got my 4+ and Baja s2 ditch lights. Now I’m working out the kinks in my install plan.

I am a novice with electrical stuff so trying to make sure I do it right.

Everything, except the ones I haven't done yet ;)
Yep, installed my six shooter recently, love being able to control it via app. Might purchase the 4+ for additional accessories I have planned too.
