Now that the truck is in the driveway, time for mods..
Someone lived down a gravel road I'm hoping these aren't too much of a PITA to replace? I don't think I want paint matched again. Black will do.

Ya'll have a good resource for buying aftermarket (or oem) parts? Seems like there's 100 different options.

 

Anyone want to play in some snow soon?

I do! But truck is broken and I am in Pocatello. Oh and we need to get some snow still.

 

I can safely say my 98 had a cleaner exterior than this truck

I didn't see this at the dealership (not that it would of mattered)

I've got replacement bumper ends ordered, I went with black. Will look into getting the chipped/rusted spot repaired soon too

 

Is your bumper color matched?

I hate the color matched plastics, seems like paint never actually adheres to any of it. My front bumper has peeling (probably from a chip) and so does one of my mirrors.

Still rolling around with dealer/temp tags, waited 1.5hrs at the DMV Thursday to be told they need the title in order for me to register it. Called the dealer, they hadn't even received the title yet from the leasing bank..

Remember that cop that followed us all the way into Mtn Home when we were coming out of Bruneau earlier this year? I am so glad I had removed the turbo cover plate because he was checking my plates out for sure. Since you were ahead me, I was able to block his view of you. But you owe me.

 

I can think of several other instances from over the years where we "just don't look right" to LE so we get their undeserved attention.

 

Omg that's insane. Coming from Washington I'm super paranoid about stuff like that.

Then again with the DMV implementing a new system right now and being a complete clusterf*ck, I feel pretty confident the cops aren't going to pull people over for expired tags.

 

Got the truck detailed yesterday. Not sure if I got the wool pulled over my eyes or if he was correct.

Anyway.
The truck has tons of dog scratches along the top of the rear fenders (from pups hanging over the bed). They aren't obvious unless you're looking for them. I thought due to them being so "superficial" looking, they'd surely buff out. He told me they couldn't get them out because of the soft paint.

Thoughts?

I'll try to add pics later today once it's not frosted over.

 

This is me adjusting from 1st gen paint quality to 3rd gen paint quality. The difference is crazy. I'm sure part of it is the color & body lines as well.

On one hand it's kind of nice I bought it "broke in" because I would of been way too cautious with it otherwise. On the other hand, I paid 30k for a "broke in" truck. Lol

Yeah I thought buying a lease was smart since it had been dealer maintained. Which, as far as mechanical maintenance, maybe it was smart. The interior is in good shape. I'll live with the exterior abuse.

I'm glad I bought the inferno. As much as I love white or cement, you see them EVERYWHERE.
