so you didn’t have to add any spacers to your skid plate then correct? That would be great. I have this same diff drop and I was hoping that the Pro skid plate would still bolt right on. Then I started reading these threads and thought maybe I’d take the drop off. If this worked for you without any modification I believe it will work on line as well.

I had to remove the diff drop. It will wear out your stock cv boots though. My solution was to remove the inner clamp on the cv boot, slide the end of the boot over, and then use a new hose clamp on it. That way the cv fins don't rub on each other.

P.S. I've moved on to a jeep gladiator. Solid front axle. None of these issues.

Trashed my diff drop - didn’t need it I only have a 2” front lift. Now my TRD Pro skid plate fits no problem. Diff drops are trash. If anyone wants mine I’ll let you have it for free.

Did you try installing it with the diff drop on? My bro-in-law sold me an '18 with a 3" Toytec. Checked it and it has the diff drop kit. Should have checked before buying a skid plate. Anyway, did it confirmed not fit? Or did you decide to just remove the drop kit? Thanks.

I read so many reports that it wouldn’t fit with the drop on, I just removed it. I saw one post where someone added spacers to the skid plate and it did fit but the diff mounts were touching the inside of the skid plate. I didn’t want it to touch like that. With the drop removed, I could almost slide my finger between the mount and the skid plate. I’m happy I removed it. It wasn’t hard to take off. If you have a 3” or more lift in the front, however, you might want to consider leaving it on.

I was actually able to get the seller on Amazon to cancel the order before they shipped. I'll admit, it was a knockoff pro skid. I guess I will just cheap out. I do mostly sand driving if I do any off roading, so Ill just take off the the "splash guard" and paint it silver...call it a win.
