3rd Gen Tacoma 2.7L ECU Tuning

I used a rough country speedometer unit. Same as the hypertech unit.

 

So just to confirm, what your working on would work for the 2nd Gen 05-15 2.7 as well as the 16-17 correct? & it’s only out for beta at the moment? Just asking cause I have a 2010 MT and am pretty interested in this. Don

 

The 2nd gen 2.7 is supported correct? I was looking on yalls website and didnt see it listed under the 379 tuning software/cable package. Curious if there is a separate thread for the 2nd gen 2.7?

Does anyone know where I can buy an already finished tune for the 2017 2.7 3rd gen? I don't know how to mess with all that stuff, nor do I have access to a dyno.

His signature says SR5 so its going to be an automatic, mines a 5 speed and techstream said my calibration is 304A1100 if that helps any? lol

 

Not sure but its a 2017 2.7 auto. I was just saying it would be cool to buy an already tuned file from someone. I just don't know how to mess with all that calibration and dyno stuff. I'm sure alot of us don't. Would be nice if OVtune still sold already finished tunes with hp and torque numbers.

 

I'm about to work on an 04a21 and fine tune things with another member soon. If things check out, I can offer it up for sale!

 

And if you are the other 2.7L ecu, I could work it into that ecu, just would want to get compensated for credits and what not

It would be a file that you could just flash right into your truck. But let me make sure everything turns out nice and get feedback. Then I'll hit this thread back up

I highly doubt there will be hp and torque gains. Those are measured in optimal instances already.
Based on the 3.5L testing there is a 25hp gain after the tune AND using premium fuel.

I think what you'll really be getting is increased access to lower end torque and throttle responsiveness, as well as nicer driveability.

That's what our butts have been measuring in the 3.5L thread.

 

Based on the info here and the first post. There is no support for the manual 2.7L trucks.
We have access to tune 04A21 and 04A22, which would be 2016 and 2017 AT

Hey man. Did you ever get the tune done to that 4cyl truck? If so, were there any noticeable gains? I see you're close in Atlanta (so am I), so I would be interested in having you flash the tune to my truck, too.

 

Yup! @BeardedTacoma may have more to say, it was his truck. Pretty soon here I am going to try another tweak to see if we can pull a little more improvement as well.

Is there any tuner on the market for 2021 2.7L? With my overland build, I’m really wanting a tune to restore shift points but OVTune said they can’t access the ECU in my truck? Does the dealership offer tuners?
