Looking for a little guidance here...

I took my truck for inspection and was told that the ubj (driver's side) is bad. I asked about the difficulty of pressing the old out and a new in. Mechanic said it isn't a hard job but that, in his opinion, it is much better to get a new control arm because aftermarket ubj's never seem to work out very well.

Just wondering if I'm going to do this myself, what you would recommend? I'm fine going either route but, obviously, don't want to do the cheaper if it's likely to come back and bite me in the rear...

Whiteline Uca bushings and mevotech UBJ. I've installed this setup on many tacomas and they are all happy. Ensure you grease the poly bushings with non petroleum based lube like superlube.

If you're not lifted you can probably find some low mileage stock take offs in the buy/sell section on here for really cheap. Easy to install yourself. If you're lifted, you may want to look into something like the JBA upper control arm for a reasonably cheap strong alternative

Thanks! I'm at stock height and, if I had more time, would be inclined to go that route. Unfortunately, I've only got a week until my rejection sticker runs out...

    Appreciate all the suggestions!
