I’d rather let them live, which is what we’ve done for ever.
When we catch a lion on Sunday and let it go and then someone kills it on Monday and makes 5 grand.

why shouldn’t we make a bit of money?

Apparently you've never followed hounds thru hip deep snow, thru canyons, up mountainsides for miles, find out it's a female or a small tom. Drive some more, cut a track, turn the dogs loose and do it all over again. Wash rinse repeat.

No practical experience + keyboard = overinflated sense of one's own opinion.

Controlled and regulated hunting has never resulted in the demise of a species. Habitat loss and human encroachment, yes. Lancaster County, PA was once the pheasant capital of the east. Or so some called it. There's no pheasants anymore. Loss of habitat and clean farming practices is the reason. Not hunting.

Shooting a non moving animal has nothing to do with being macho. A clean swift kill is the goal of ethical hunters. I don’t personally care what your opinion is on what’s “sport” or not. As long as the hunt is legal and done ethically. If you don’t like hunting under a feeder, don’t.

Awww so cute when they think there's a gotcha moment. I only shoot at non-moving deer. I learned a long time ago, be selective on your shots and recovery is 100% or damn close. Ethics and repsect for the animal. Either you have it, or you don't. And advocating shooting moving animals because it doesn't fit your narrow view of "sporting", well let's me know which side you fall on.

How about shooting animals over a foodplot? Soybean or corn left behind after harvest? A white oak dropping acorns? Antelopes at a waterhole? All food sources. Targeted by smart hunters. Shooting at unalarmed relaxed animals is one of the best ways to achieve that 100% recovery.

Recurve? Bitch, please. Hold my sippy cup. Regardless of weapon, compound, recurve, flintlock or rifle..I'm shooting at a stationary animal. Why? Because it's the smart ethical thing to do.

@4x4spiegel please take your opinions to a different hunting thread and quit pissing people off. This thread is for harvest pics... and I don't think you've anything to show anyone at this point.

With all due respect...why go into a hunting/fishing thread and show distaste for the methods used? That would be like me going into a fitness thread and telling them they're all ignorant and have no idea how to do a proper bench presso_O.
There are several legal methods that people use to pursue their game that I don't neccessarily find interesting or exciting (personally), but if it's legal and they're out there trying, who am I to judge?
    Side note:
I was recently told I was 'fucking stupid' for shooting a coyote with my bow. Admittedly, I did nothing with it. But it's legal, the season is year-round and I wanted to. Don't really give a rat's ass about someone's opinion.

Underpowered primitive weapons serve to prolong death agony. I kill most of my deer with my truck. I’m a better hunter with more ethics. :poking:
J/k you do u and don’t judge other people’s techniques. We’re all out in the woods for different reasons
