Just got some CBI full skids for my 3rd gen taco. Was wondering what the consensus is on painting aluminum skid plates? I was just planning on using a Rustoleum primer and a matte black top coat.

Depends on the look you want to go for. No harm in not painting it as the aluminum won't rust. If it were me I would paint them black with something easy to touch up!

I would put something on the bare aluminum since you will strap it to a steel frame using steel bolts, and add in salt water this winter. That seems to be great recipe for galvanic corrosion.

I just left mine bare aluminum, 5 years and they still look great.
You can paint them if you want, just depends on your preference.

I order the same thing and will be hitting it some Plasti dip spray paint... lets me play with colors if I feel up to being creative down the road.
