Does anyone fabricate a grille insert for the 05 tacoma that’s relatively inexpensive. possibly one with the raptor lights? or that’s fit for modification

Does anyone fabricate a grill insert?

    Yes @HomerTaco

    Relatively inexpensive?

    How defined?

If you aren't willing to pay more than $150 I would look for an ebay one, fit and finish won't be as nice has a homer taco grill but it might be in your price range and be good enough for your taste.

    Why not do it yourself?

I cut my grill up and epoxied zip tie bases on the back side then cut and folded a large piece of hex mesh and zipped it in.

    Is it homer Taco level?
No, but it looks the part from 5 feet and given I wheel my truck hard and ain't the best doing it looking good from 5 feet is fan freaking tastic.

Not big on "raptor lights" but they would be dead simple to add too.

Yeah, that's generally what the decent to good ones go for.

Got to keep in mind the part itself isn't exactly cheap plus the labor involved in cutting, cleaning up, filling in, and installing the anchors and mesh all takes a fair amount of time and money, the $300 price is reasonable.

Simple in appearance, complex in fabrication.

But if you can't do it yourself you got to pay to play.

Look at custom car grilles. They sell pre bent/cut sheets.

Only picture I really have right now, I know I have some of the backside posted up on here somewhere but good luck finding them, haven't put it in my build thread yet.

You can see on the left side the remnants of where I chopped it and how I had to cut my mesh to wrap around and fill in the D shaped holes left, Homer fills those sides in nice and flush factory looking with fiberglass. I didn't care that muc

Yeah I like the "Whale shark mouth" grille, most aftermarket grills are like that, if you want a flush one you could pop some "raptor lights" into look for a specifically "2011" grill, they're flush-ish factory and have a hobey comb pattern of sorts. They're unique to the 2011 model year and will fit your front end unlike the 2012-15.
