For sure, it's got plenty of room. I could do simple designs on the side holders, top center, and maybe a name or something at the top of the sides.

 

14 gauge might not hold the weight of wood in there, but it might also work out perfectly since it’s pretty compact.

will be cool to see if it’ll be strong enough though for the weight savings, the one Matt has is darn heavy.

 

We shall see, for the amount of wood or charcoal able to fit in any grill this style it shouldn't be heavy enough to cause the bottom to open.
Now I could shove my foot through it more than likely, but not charcoal or wood.

Thermal dynamics is tough haha, possibly 10 minutes. Always carry your grilling gloves with you.

 

So many variables to even begin to answer that.

 

I was just curious on how long everyone thinks it would take to cool down before grabbing and throwing in truck.

 

Until you can put your hand on it for a while. That's how I'd do it.

 

I made a bunch like that a few years ago, this one I welded but a bunch of them I didn't so they can be packed flat.

 

How long it take to cool down on average? Just curious cause I usually have a fire till I’m done packing up. Just wondering when I might need to put out fire so it will be cooled down so I can roll out.

 

this was 3/8" steel, much thicker so a lot more thermal mass. But with thinner steel, I can pack my Solo stove up about 20 min after I have dumped the ashes out. But if you dont dump ashes it'll stay hot for hours. Obviously this is all dependent on ambient temperature. If it's 20 degrees out, the solo stove cools down in like 10 min.

 

That’s what I was looking for. How did you like solo stove? I seen some pretty good feedback on those. Two different sizes?

 

I love it. They have a bunch of sizes but the Ranger is what I have, it's perfect for packing up in the truck. If you dont camp with it, get the next size up at least, Bonfire I think.
