Hi, this is my introduction. I am a truck lover who finds all sorts of uses for trucks. My first truck was a used 1969 Datsun. I met and bonded with my longtime auto mechanic over that one. Next was a 1983 Toyota 5SR long bed with a camper shell. Oh I loved her. We had such fun. I deeply regret letting her go, but a combination of the carrot of financial incentives and the stick of increasingly finding it hard to find parts when she was 30 years old decided me. Now a 1997 Toyota Tacoma king cab with 2WD and base bed has come into my life. I’m so happy. And my auto mechanic who has passed had previously cared for it.

The first day out I collected wonderful free cargo like a perfect coffee table that a neighbor was giving away.

i’m looking for a ‘camper’ shell to fit the standard 6 foot long bed. We are in the San Francisco Bay area.

    Thanks guys for the welcomes
Yesterday we took the non-working big refrigerator to the ‘transfer’ station. Truck bed was plenty big. She had no problems. Trucks are just so useful.
