    Hey, @kingtone68

Nothing in particular! Like @bucwld1277 mentioned, making sure your Locking Rod Guide Brackets are adjusted properly so that you have even/level compression of your perimeter gasket around the cover. Also, once installed we recommend closing up the cover, laying in the bed, and looking for gaps where the sunlight peaks through. Near the bulkhead there are a few areas in the corners which typically need some silicone applied to seal gaps left in the bed by Toyota.

When the time comes, shoot us some questions. We'll gladly lend a hand getting your cover dialed in.

One more question do I need to remove all of the hardware from the factory tonneau cover, before installing the diamondback?

@kingtone68 Depending on what hardware is installed, you may. There are a few areas our covers utilize for installation. For a 3rd Gen Tacoma, we utilize the factory accessory bed rail system. The Cab Panel Lock Rods slide into the Accessory Bed Rail directly, the Tailgate Panel Lock Rods slide under provided brackets which are bolted to the Accs. Bed Rails, and the Center Panel Clamps also lock into the Accs. Bed Rails.

Here is a link to an install video if you're curious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIYsSAV6Nmg

Wondering how useful the crossbin’s are on a short bed specifically. I feel that the 8 is too small for gear such as backpacks and helmets etc. The 13 feels about right but appears to take up a lot of room. With the 13 bin could I slide a snowboard and skis underneath?

    Hey, @Trucks2019

We hear you, that is high value real estate. For us, it depends how your bed is being utilized. The Cross Bin 8 gives a higher priority to cargo space throughout the bed while still giving you a spot for a variety of items you need at a moments notice, while the Cross Bin 13 provides an organized space at the cab side of your bed for items you'd rather not float throughout the bed.

Both Cross Bins are designed in a way to leave space between the bottom of the Cross Bin and the bed of your truck. In terms of clearance, the Cross Bin 13 comes in at 13" inches deep from the top of your bedrails to the center section of the bin. Depending on which generation Tacoma you have, you're looking at a bed height of between ~18"-19". Running the Cross Bin 13 would give you around ~5"-6" of clearance under the bin for cargo.

Attached is an image of a Cross Bin 8 for reference.

    Hope this helped!

I'm so excited, I just ordered my Diamond Back cover tonight! I've always been partial to camper shells however I thought I'd give the Diamond Back a try. Really looking forward to being able to leave gear locked in the back of my Taco at overnight stops while on road trips!!

COVERS WILL COST MORE IN 2022.

We value, and are incredibly grateful for, our Tacoma World family – which is why we wanted to come and give this much-deserved notice.

Our company exists today because the status quo - cheap and flimsy - just didn’t cut it. Like the very first one, every DiamondBack is built by
American welders, using the best available parts from American suppliers. Instead of cheap overseas labor, our business provides stable careers
to a small-town community, and a finished product you can rely on when things start to go sideways.

A global supply chain crunch and increases in labor and material costs have left businesses scrambling to adjust. Many are cutting corners and
offering inferior services or products. We aren’t willing to make those compromises. We’ve analyzed and optimized our production process to keep
costs down, but we’ve been forced to make the difficult decision to raise our prices in 2022.

If you have been on the fence, or have your build all laid out and just haven't pulled the trigger yet, now may be a good time. You may even want
to look into our buy now, pay later program with Affirm. Utilizing this would lock in your cover at 2021 prices while splitting up the payment over time.

    Rugged or
    Smooth Black 2021 2022 effective 1/1/22
    HD $2,099 $2,299
    SE $1,699 $1,799
    270 $2,199 $2,399
    ATV/SXS from $2,799 from $3,099

Just like you, we’ve got big things planned. We’re honored by the trust that our customers place in DiamondBack. It drives us to make every
cover better than the last, each built to provide peace of mind for a lifetime.

Anyone have the measurements for the spacing between the brackets for the center section for the HD for a short bed? I'm building my own bed divider and they'll be occupying the same place on the side rails.
