The 2.7L Single Cab Thread

It works, it's cheaper and I won't see a mileage increase running a higher octane.
I looked in the manual when I bought this truck to see what to put in it. My last car took 91 so that's what I used.

The AALs aren't in yet. This is just with the front lifted on the 3rd notch on the 5100s. It's almost level. The rear is about 3/4 inch higher but I tend to notice it almost looking like the rear is lower than it is. I'm hoping the AAL will fix that.

I'd say gas companies pretty much misinformed people of "Premium" fuels with their TV commercials, they must have had to settle somewhere down the line because they don't market it the way they use to. I'm quite sure I heard the word "power" in them.
Octane rating is RESISTANCE to combustion, if that's something you feel your 2.7L needs then have at it haha

Anyone running 33/12.5r15?

 

I'm close at 305/65/17 which is around 33/12/17 so a little narrower. I still rub on the cab mount at full lock so I would imagine the 12.5 would rub a little more with 17 x 8.5 wheels with -10 offset or more negative. I think @06RegCab1 is running the 33x12.5 in either 16 or 17. You can't run the 33/12.5/15 because 15" wheels won't clear the calipers, you need 16 or 17" wheels.

 

He's a 5 lug which have the smaller calipers

 

Yeah I’m running the new general grabber tire the ATX on my methods 15 inch rim double standard plus total chaos long travel so I should be OK on the rubbing part regeared for 88

 

Ahhh, I didn't realize the 5 lug setup used smaller calipers and smaller than 16" wheels. But the width of the tire will still depend on the wheel width and offset to see if it pushes the tire out too far and therefore rub on the cab mount or tuck the tire in too far with too much backspacing and rub on the inside. If you're sticking out more than this, I think you will rub the mount. I have the SPC UCA's at psotion C which pushes the wheel farther forward in the wheelwell and still get some rub on the mount at full lock.

Honestly...it was a bit of an impulse purchase, so not sure haha. Probably under the hood like most guys do.

2012 Single Cab going for $24,500! Auto, 4x4, 30k miles, topper, etc. Real nice truck but this just seems crazy. I'm seriously considering posting my 2009 w/ 135k to try and turn a profit...

 

1st yr of that body, low mileage, 4x4 auto only way to get center console and buckets in single cab, shell..........overpriced but not sure how crazy. If it's your thing then there it is. Can't buy a new one like that so it's kinda relative. I'd throw 20 at that before 50k for a new TRD Pro......way before. Needs to leave WY before rust happens tho..............
