Hey guys I'm currently trying to decide what lift to do. My dream is the old man emu 2 inch but 2100 dollars for the kit with the old man emu control arms is a lot of money. I've seen the 5100 kits with the toytec add-a-leaf for around 700-800 on sale. My question is whether my lead springs are past doing an add-a-leaf since the springs are inverted the opposite way. I'd really like to do dakars but the budget is tight right now. Thanks guys!

Yeah I’d say those are trash. If you’re tight on funds I’d say look for some takeoffs someone’s getting rid of and then add a leaf to that pack. People give oem packs away for free you just gotta be patient.

Don’t stock they look almost like that? I have 2015 trd off road leaf springs with 45k miles on them in Sacramento for free if you want them

Yeah I thought they were trash haha. Man that'd be awesome! Are the trd springs beefier than the stock springs? I could just do an add-a-leaf and really beef them up. You gonna be in the reno area anytime soon? Do you need new control arms too with the 5100 lift??

I dont really go up to reno. sorry.

I dont think the trd springs are beefier then regular. the only diffrence i know is that some tacomas came with 2 leafs and others came with 3.

As for the UPC, it depends who you ask. I have a 3" lift on my taco and i have stock UPC. Drives fine and i off road my truck a good bit. I get alignment done every 2-3 months and they always get it within spec. And the tech said i only will need aftermarket UPC if i cant get it within spec.
