I’m not sure I’m dropping this in the right spot, but here goes...
Just got a new (to me) 2011 TRD 4.0. First car / truck I ever bought that I actually wanted (70k mi). I’ve been working out bugs and making her mine since late August and it’s been awesome!
So far: New headlights and brakes. AC Compressor. Serpentine Belt. Fan motor and resistor. Oil Changed. Alpine head unit. Auxiliary plug added to dash and microphone overhead for hands free phone calls. Corrected paint with Torq buffer and Chemical Guys #32-36 polishing products. (Amazing results, btw). Trailer Hitch (installed at garage because F that). New Muffler. Backup Camera and locking tailgate handle. Replaced about 6 bad bulbs in my various dash switches.
I’m considering the Ziebart under coat because of the rust issues with that year. (Toyota has already done the recall spray, but there’s more going on under there!).D4E0F991-0312-40EE-8299-A15A0D3720ED.jpg40BD02CF-0702-4BF6-A34E-2C955816D3CA.jpg8696C656-6D20-4C36-BFFF-0F2D756BB780.jpg

Good to know! What’s the issue with Ziebart? Several recommendations were made (including the Toyota manager that did my recall spray).

The hard undercoatings like rubberized or asphalt are known to trap water and road salts accelerating corrosion resulting in rust through.

I'm a fan of Ziebart. Our first new Tacoma had Ziebart treatment and 10 years later the underside, frame, everything was in great shape, that was a '01 Double Cab OR. Unfortunately the one Ziebart shop the owner closed after a few decades and retired. I took the wife's 2013 and my 2017 to a place called Ming and had them undercoat/rust preventive treatment. I'm sure it will help but dont believe it's the same as Ziebart work. Nice looking truck, welcome to TW
