I believe the trail rails mount just like the predator steps. They don't bolt to the frame.... I think.

These are pretty much for looks, mount to the rocker panels just like the steps

Yeah the OEM Trail Rails mount to the body just like other steps. They don't mount to the frame like a true slider. Very odd choice by Toyota and basically cosmetic since if you actually put the weight of the truck on them they'd probably bend your body up.

AHHHH! They are not true sliders. I thought that was mounted to your frame and for bashing rocks with. My bad

Not for hardcore off-roading for sure. I just wanted something in place of the steps. I occasionally get on some muddy roads but won’t be sliding my truck across rocks and trees.

They are new option on 2021 models. I drove over to Louisiana today and bought them off a guy that had purchased a 2021 TRD OR a few weeks ago, he needed steps, unfortunately he already bought some so we could not trade, I paid $250 for them, I called my local dealer about getting them, they wanted $660 for them before tax and that was after negotiating, they retail for $740 if I remember right, window stickers show them at $669 I think

Yep it will probably help with rocks and such getting kicked up into your rockers from the tires as well. Not TOTALLY non-functional or anything, just don't bring the full weight of the truck down on them!

I think they are regional for SET only, but where you are that makes sense.

Would it be beneficial to fill the tubes up on rock sliders with sand before sealing them with a welded on end cap? Sure would make them not bend as easily

Honestly don't listen to me. I am the guy that put a 8" round door smash in the first weekend he had the truck...

Do not fill them with sand. I get your thinking, but its just weight you don't need. Make sliders out of DOM and you will smash them for years and not ruin them.

These guys do a nice little video on dropping a rig on rocks with types of sliders.

I had to do a double take for a second there. Eerie how similar your parking garage looks to mine. Nice shoes though! :mudding:

I like that it’s different but I’m not a fan of badges. Maybe it blends in too much for me. If you like it then keep it.
