I just replaced the starter and the battery on my 2000 Toyota Tacoma. I cannot get the alarm system to reset allowing me to start the truck. I purchased a new key fob and went through the reset instructions to no avail. The truck has a securikey alarm system that came with the truck. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry, not from an 'off / on' perspective, even if that's possible. An owners manual would be required to know that.

My method would be complete removal and repair of the OE wires that were spliced into. That's because I personally find alarms more annoying than helpful. You're living a key example right now. The good news you're not stuck by the side of a dark rural road on a night filled with sleet!

Did you get the wrong Key ??

You do have the schematic for your alarm?

How do you know it is the alarm and not the battery or starter being new does not insure the function.

Turns out the 40A Starting System fuse was blown. $5 later and she’s up and running! Now to program my new key fob.
