I actually can’t tell if this is sarcasm or not but I don’t get out of bed for 20 cents per gallon savings. You’re talking $3 per fill up and I fill up 3 times per month. $120 per year to sit in a line 10x as long as my local gas station is comical. I’d rather work 2 OT hours a year for my saved time (much more than 2 hours) and break even cost-wise.

You were supposed to give us the chemical properties of gasoline to prove otherwise. :D

No, you are incorrect regarding the substitution of grades, I used to haul fuel, and the correctness of the fuel grade is a big deal and it is very carefully regulated. While there are numerous checks in place to make sure you have the correct fuel on your load, you should know exactly what you are carrying. I suppose there could be an error, but it would not be by intent. Where there is more opportunity for a mistake is with the delivery on site. Although the tanks are generally well marked, there is still an opportunity for mistakes, especially with some of the mom and pop operations with poor markings and lighting.

I’ve worked at refineries that substituted 89 for 87 because they had a contract for 87 snd didn’t have enough 87 on hand.

snipped one grade via pipeline and without a water plug shipped another grade to the same facility. I could go on, but you get the point.

I get what you’re saying and I try to find decent gas for all my vehicles too, but the way you drive has far more impact on your mileage than the brand of gas you used.

Ive heard that too. No idea why but I’ve been doing it my entire life and never had a single issue. Been grateful a couple times that I do when I was out in the boonies trying to make it to a station on fumes though...

I’m slowly working my way through this thread. Some of you guys are actually arguing against each other while somehow basically being on the same side of the argument.

    Freakin people are hilarious... :rofl::bananadead:

I would say burning non ethanol fuel is more important for a healthy fuel system.

Ok, but how is that relevant to my statement? Not trying to be an asshole. Your reply just seems random considering what I stated.

That three dollars saved waiting for one minute buys me my OMAD (slice of pizza) at Costco or Sams Club while on cross country trips. I will take that any day over just handing over money unnecessarily. But, it is your money. You do you.

Because topping off can potentially leave little to no room for the fuel to expand on hot, sunny days, which in turn could force raw fuel into the evap system. That will immediately ruin the canister, which is only designed for fuel vapor.

99% of the time this is a non warranted offense.

You have just been lucky, I used to do the same until I had a code thrown and had to replace the canister assembly on a GM.

So my last ... cough cough (not covid but someone that can comment ;) ) ....cough cough... thoughts on this.

When I go to the track, not with my Taco of course, the track is OUTSTANDING on getting great fuel. Does it make a difference?

    F YES it does!

Tracking cars we have it DEFINITELY makes a HUGE difference!

However, for the Taco we just let it run. What I do, aside from the runs to Costco, we do what is convenient. COSTCO or the "Murphs" by the house.

I like doing both. Additives, then NO "-OH group" in the tank for the Taco.

Will it make a difference....probably not but it does make me happy. When traveling and in need of fuel we get what is available.

Ask me at 200,000 miles......will see what happens!

BTW.....in my opinion do what your wallet and your brain says is OK.

I will have this truck til I probably can't be on the road so if it still runs decades down the road I will still be happy :)

Bruh...you keep contradicting yourself with each of these posts so what's your deal? Not to mention that you've been proven wrong by several members too, myself included. You're wrong...totally wrong...either admit it or stop posting because each post you've made confirms it.

I do enjoy this...I so LOVE when a dumbass blatantly shows they are a dumbass and allows me to indulge in pointing that out...mmm...tasty...god damn I was gonna get a cheeseburger for dinner but your posts are too tasty

No problems with Costco gas over many years. Lately my MPG drops when I fill up at Sams. Happened the last two times I filled up there. Drops from roughly 18 down to 14 MPG.

If it's not busy and I don't have to go too much out of my way I'll fill up at Costco. I do notice some gains in MPG when I fill up with Costco gas.
