    Hello again,

I have a 2020 SR 2WD 4 Cyl that seems to have this issue where it leaks (or overflows I guess) out of the coolant overflow reservoir cap.

This happened around 1500 miles the first time. I took it in and the dealer pressure tested it twice with no leaks found. The general consensus was that it was overfilled when I bought it new at 57 miles... So, I cleaned it up and called it a day.

I'm now at almost 10k and same story. It's a tiny amount, but I'm wondering if it's normal? I took the picture when the truck was cold, and when it's hot, the level sits about an inch or so below the full line.

Is this a normal thing for these trucks? Should I be concerned? It does go in this Saturday for the 10k service, so I can always mention it then if it's something that needs to be addressed.

I do drive on fairly bumpy roads, so I'm not sure if that caused it to splash up and leak out of that spot a small amount.

Anyways, thanks in advance for the help!

Since no other reply yet; I wouldn't sweat it, a little tiny bit of coolant on the outside of overflow canister is no biggie.

Normal. Mine does the same. Bottle is not leaking, hot air goes from radiator into the tube in the bottle and comes out of overflow hole.

I have a 2017, it did this from day one. I have even purchased a bottle of pink Toyota coolant to top it off if needed but 4 years later I have never needed it.

I'd say normal. Bad design but normal.

Yeah I think it's just pink vapor outgassing from the overflow hole. No sweat IMO

Curiosity made me have to investigate. Open the the cap on the overflow bottle and you'll see where it vents. So like others mentioned it's nothing more than a little vapor escaping. I've seen trace amounts in all 3 generations I've owned.

I just noticed mine today was a inch below from the full line. 6000 miles on a new engine. Something to keep an ion I guess

I decided to check mine after seeing this thread. I did not see the coolant overflow leaking. I did, however, find the dealer tag behind the air filter box. o_O:rofl:

I foresee a bed mat in my future.

The Toyota mats are great. No more slipping and sliding.
