iPad for back up camera?

Hello all,
I have this iPad holder in my 2nd gen. I love being able to run Google maps and Gaia GPS with it. The only negative is I can’t see my backup camera screen that’s on the radio without removing the iPad. Does anyone know of a way to show the backup screen on the iPad itself? It would be nice if there was a way to plug the iPad into the aux/usb factory plug under the ac controls and show the backup screen. I was hoping one of the geniuses on TW would have this all figured out.

 

Shame no one has replied, I'm working on something similar. I want to run a front camera to the iPad. I have the iPad mount up above my stock infotainment screen so my backup camera isn't blocked. Were you able to solve this?

 

Problem is Apple is very tight with what it allows to operate within it's architecture. Your best hope would be some sort of bluetooth camera that will pair with it. You'll likely never get anything third party to pnp with an Apple anything unless it has an app in the App Store.

Sorry for the late reply. I was never able to figure this out without buying a Bluetooth camera system. I just don’t want it enough to spend $150+. It’s just too easy to take the iPad out of the holder when I need to.
