I recently installed a Dashtop Multi Mount from Taco Garage in my 2020 TRD Off Road and the most recent iteration has cut-out notches to allow cables to be run up through the top of the dash. Has anyone seen instructions for rewiring or adding a new infotainment input USB port? I'd love to connect my iPhone through the top of the dash instead of running a USB cable down the front of the dash.

This is my first post so please let me know if this isn't the correct forum for this question. Thanks!

I just did this last weekend - though I have an aftermarket head unit. Mine just has a straight up usb type A plug on the back, I ran a braided cord up through the DMM slot.

I forget what type of connector the stock radio has for USB, and your 2020 is probably different than my 2017 anyways. Crutch field is usually the best place to find adaptors, they always seem to have what you need

Thank you for the replies! I was considering drilling small holes in the dash and running the wire up behind it, but in that thread they mentioned popping the USB plug out which isn't something I'd considered. I appreciate it!

I think the cleanest way to do it is to drill a small hole in the center just to the side of the 12v outlet. I ran a 6ft 90 degree all the way through the middle and behind the head unit to my taco garage DMM. I used a coat hanger to fish the cable from the area near the Qi charger to the open area behind the head unit. This was the hardest part only because I was avoiding taking the lower dash apart, and still believe this was as simple as it gets.
